extremely fit mom decides to try a different size in life

This is not your typical mom!

Taryn Brumfitt was once all about keeping her extremely muscular body in shape at all costs — that's all that mattered to her!

But when she gave birth to her child, that quickly changed!

At first the weight she gained from the pregnancy made her look towards options like a tummy tuck or a boob job to change her self image, but she realized that she would not be able to teach her daughter to love herself if she could not do the same!

So she posted a before/after photo to prove how much she loves her new body, and has now started up a Kickstarter campaign to make:

"A feature length documentary that will unite women across the globe to love their bodies."

Aww! We LOVE it!

As long as you're healthy and happy, your body will ALWAYS be beautiful!

Check out a clip of the kind of movie this inspiring mommy wants to make (below) !!!

Great….for now! The problem is when you start to let yourself go and give up healthy lifestyle HABITS over a number of years (and they fly by). Over time you pile on the weight until you're several pounds overweight. I know because it happened to me and it all started with me looking great.

Good for her for getting her priorities straight!
Re: Helen – There is a difference between living a healthy lifestyle and letting yourself go. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Sorry it happened to you, as it has to so many, but a lot of us manage a healthy weight without being a bikini model or getting overweight.

why does being naked equate to being fat happy?

Re: rosebud99 – You're doing the opposite at the moment, opposite what this message is about…i can't believe it …maybe we should all start our skinny club, not skinny not fat club, and a fat club too…lolz it be funny if you can catch what i mean …sorry overweight* i mean….

Re: rosebud99 – Obviously rose this message is about people like you who get to feel great about themselves with the at least i am not like Helen attitude :) Frankly you wouldn't have been able to say this to helen in real life i am sure…sort yourself out girl you probs got more issues than her, tots missed the message though..

it happens to everyone, being a mum changes a lot too..so sad that people are so judgmental and women feel it when other women are judging them about their weight..if only we all could just focus on being the best we can be NATURALLY and appreciate ourselves the way we are, and most of all just be more loving, caring human beings..the human race is sadly devolving…

Re: rosebud99 – Sorry, I just feel that this message is about acceptance not about a healthy lifestyle or being healthy.. Our focus on being healthy being fit can become obsessive and sometimes there are other things that are more important like being a mum etc…if its any consolidation i feel like Helen hasn't understood the message either…my sister used to obsess about being skinny for years to the point that she is now very sick…

Re: rosebud99 – if we keep living like this obsessing about fitness and skinniness and living in a society that is hyper judgmental we will all be worse off..the skinny will keep having the attitude i am just not skinny enough which leads to anorexia, and the obsession with being fit can also be unhealthy and at the cost of many things..we could be killing ourselves with being healthy or trying to be..

Re: WTHEACTUALL?? – Okay, I get what you are saying - healthy vs. acceptance. Point taken.

Just because she isn't going to go to drastic measures to get her pre pregnancy body back, does not mean she is 'ANTI-FIT', saying that sends out the wrong message, insinuating she's went from healthy and fit to being fat and unhealthy. She's had a baby, her body has changed, doesn't mean she is unhealthy. Unfortunetly we seem to live in a world where the praise is on mothers who have a baby then a month later they are back to being super skinny with their skipping meals and constant workouts. Best bet is to breastfeed to lose baby weight, unless of course there is a good reason you can't.

I think you are all missing the point - large, small, blue, green or oblong - Taryn is about loving the body you are in and loving the person you are - its not about not caring about yourself - its quite the opposite - its loving yourself and feeling good about yourself and taking care of yourself - not getting caught up in the quest to look like someone else.

Re: br – How exactly is she being a bad example? Where does it say she's living an unhealthy life? She just realized there is more in life than obsessing about looking like a fashion model. And this is a very healthy attitude. Not to mention that she'll probably be able to focus on her children more this way.

Re: br – Not all people that are overweight sit at home eating candy, fried chicken, donuts while drink sugary drinks. I think if people take a look at the patients that fill up a hospital, you would be surprise that in the heart unit the patients are thin!
