It's hard to say goodbye.
Especially to your hair!
Blue's Clues was one of the most successful shows on the Nickelodeon network from 1996-2006, and even today it's remembered as an amazing experience for anyone who watched the show growing up.
That's why it was SO shocking when the super popular host Steve Burns left the show seemingly out of nowhere in 2002. For a while no one was sure what the real reason was for his departure, and many speculated that he was either on drugs or even dead!
But in an interview for the show's ten-year special called Behind the Clues: 10 Years with Blue, the very much alive and sober Steve revealed the hair-raising truth, and it had to do with the loss of his hair!
Here's what he said:
"I knew I wasn't going to be doing children's television all my life, mostly because I refused to lose my hair on a kid's TV show. And it was happening … fast."
Since his departure, Steve Burns has had a relatively successful career in music, and seems to be doing just fine these days — although we do miss seeing him and that blue dog!
Maybe one day a reunion will happen between the two… but until then we'll always have our memories of them and their clues!!!
Check out around the 3:30 mark to see a hairless Steve talk about the reason he left the infamous show down (below) !
