We're so glad to hear that she's doing better!
A 12-year-old girl, who was stabbed 19 times by her two friends in Wisconsin, has been fighting for her life as doctors and family have been doing what they can to make sure survives her horrible injuries.
Luckily, the world was just given an status update by her family… and it seems that her physical wounds are definitely healing!
"Our little girl is a fighter and is improving each and every day. We appreciate your patience, love and support, as we too are stunned and saddened by this tragedy."
Although the victim's health is improving everyday, enough that doctors believe she may be out of the hospital within a few days, the parents' spokesperson says the psychological scars may take much longer to get over.
Here's what the parents' spokesperson said:
"It's real early to say how long it will take her to get over this situation. It's a long-term healing process from a physical as well as mental and emotional standpoint of being so young and being betrayed by your two best friends."
The 12-year-old was stabbed by two other 12-year-old friends who left her for dead. A passerby found the little one, barely able to breathe, and called 911.
The friends were arrested and told police they attempted the murder as a tribute to Slender Man - a fictional character created online a couple years ago. Those two girls will be charged with attempted murder as adults.
If you want to help in some way, you can! Here's how:
"The victim's family also asks that supporters write the girl notes on purple hearts made from paper, fabric and felt. The parents will post the hearts on the girl's wall to remind her that the power of love is greater than all else, Hoffman says. Hearts can be sent to: Hearts for Healing, P.O. Box 407, Waukesha, WI, 53187-0407."
That sounds like a wonderful idea to help in anyway possible this young, miraculous girl feel the love after a horrifying and nearly deadly experience.
Not many people have ever gone through what she has, but she has survived and that is the best part of this whole story.
