This is how parenting should be if your kids or a family member ever fall victim to drug addiction.
Instead of freaking out and reprimanding his son like many people would do in a scary situation like this, the Avengers actor rallied behind his son in his time of need.
According to a family source, the 20-year-old has had a history of struggling with substance abuse and decided to voluntarily check into rehab after his arrest.
Although Robert is upset that his son relapsed, RDJ is said to be proud of Indio for taking control of his own life and trying to get sober.
The source said:
"Robert clearly understands the struggle, and while of course this relapse was very upsetting to him, he is very proud of his son."
As hard as it is to see your own child struggle with addiction, the actor is handling the situation the right way — with love and support.
Indio's mom, Deborah Falconer, and stepmom, Susan, are both fully supporting the musician during this hard time.
The source continued to say:
"Indio truly wants to stay clean. And no matter what, his dad will be right there with him."
Indio has his whole family behind him and every step of the way!
The amount of support he has is truly overwhelming and we hope it's enough to help the budding musician to get over his addiction once and for all.
