This is so touching!
Three young girls, Ryley, Rheann, and Ainsley were all battling different forms of cancer when they showed up to a photoshoot together earlier this year.
Before that day, they were all strangers, but now, everyone knows their story!
The touching photos of the girls went viral back in April, with inspirational words like, “Sometimes strength comes in knowing that you are not alone!”
And it was true!
Fast forward to now, and all three girls are in remission!
Photographer Lora Scantling gave an update on them, revealing:
“Rheann was the only one still fighting, and she was still pretty sick and still projected to have quite some time to go. So of course when they declared her in remission, I cried! About a year before that photo was taken, she was so sick that the doctors told her family to prepare for the worst, because there was no way she would make it. She is a very strong girl.”
Luckily, three-year-old Ryley’s stage-five kidney cancer and four-year-old Ainsley’s acute lymphoblastic leukemia were both in remission by the time the pics went viral.
As for Rheann, these photos actually helped their family get through a really uncertain time. Her mom Valerie Franklin revealed:
“It was so heartwarming, getting all the messages from around the world! It has really helped keep our spirits up, and helped us to see the impact that all of our daughters have had on the world with this one photo shoot.”
Along with Scantling, her studio partner Christy Goodger teamed up to shoot these pics, and start an entire project of images similar to these, and they’ve partnered with Ally’s House, which is a children’s cancer foundation in Oklahoma.
This is all so touching, and it’s awesome that people were able to give the girls the support they needed to kick cancer’s booty!
