Who says Friday the 13th is unlucky?
That was NOT the case for Kelsey Zachow from Port Huron, Michigan!!
The 24-year-old single mother guessed the right numbers for the winning ticket for a huge $66 million Mega Millions jackpot, and she bought the ticket on that supposedly unlucky day back in June.
And the funny thing was it took her ten days to realize she was a millionaire!
This past Saturday Zachow finally collected her prize - which after taxes comes out to about $27 million - and she explained how her purse was filled with lottery tickets which hampered her ability to realize she had won.
"When the clerk at the store told me I had a big winner I was positive that he was mistaken. There was a long line in the store behind me, so I decided to leave and looked the numbers up … when I got into my car. That's when I realized I had won the jackpot and could barely breathe."
At the news conference where she received her big check, Zachow told the media that she reacted to winning such a huge amount in a way a lot of us probably would! She said:
"I jumped in my car and locked the door. I couldn't breathe. I pulled in the driveway and got out screaming."
When she did finally realize the great news, she locked that lottery ticket up in a safe until she was able to officially hand over her golden ticket.
And as for the bucket list of items on the new millionaire's list - the unmarried momma revealed she's keeping it simple. A new house for her and her child. A European vacation. And lots of college funds for all of the young ones in her family!
The only thing she may splurge on is a car she's dreamed about, but even that will have to come later after helping her fam!
"I have always wanted an electric blue Ford Mustang, and one day I will get one, but helping my family live comfortably comes first for me."
Sounds like the perfect woman won a tremendous amount of money!
It almost seems like she was destined for her good fortune!
