Jackie Chan Admits Being Ashamed Of His Son After Drug Bust

jackie chan is an ashamed daddy after his son was busted for drugs

Hopefully they can get through this together.

Jackie Chan recently opened up about his son Jaycee Chan's arrest and detention in Beijing, China, last Thursday on drug charges. The action star expressed how he was "ashamed" and "heartbroken" when he heard the news.

The 31-year-old son was arrested along with his friend and Taiwanese actor Kai Ko in a VERY public arrest that happened after police found about 3.53 ounces of marijuana in Jaycee's home.

His father Jackie wrote a letter to the public on his official website that addressed everything that happened to his son and family.

Here's what he wrote in the letter:

"First of all, I’d like to thank everyone for your care and concerns. The recent news about my son, Jaycee, is very shocking and the impact it has caused on society is heartbreaking. When I first heard the news, I was absolutely enraged. As a public figure, I feel very ashamed; as his dad, I’m very sad and disappointed. But the person who feels heartbroken the most is his mom. I hope our younger generation will learn from Jaycee’s mistake and stay far away from drug abuse. I would like to take this opportunity and say to Jaycee: you’ve done something wrong and you have to be responsible for the consequences. I’m your dad and I’ll always be with you. We will face the road ahead of us together. I should also take some of this responsibility because as his dad, I didn’t teach him well. Therefore, on behalf of Jaycee and myself, I extend our deepest apologies to everyone for the negative impact this has caused on society. Thank you."

We're glad that Jackie is staying by his son's side during this difficult time in his life.

Jaycee is facing a serious charge of “accommodating drug users,” which carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison, but hopefully he can avoid the prison time possibly with the help of his father.

The son has suffered enough since the arrest was recorded live by a television news program as police searched the home, and Jaycee's face has been all over televisions in China since then.

We know Jackie and Jaycee can get through this together - and possibly the hard times that have fallen on them will make their bonds with each other stronger somehow.

That would be the best possible outcome in any scenario!

@lovesGossip you are right! If Jackie doesn't say this, the Chinese govt. may harm him or his family. They're all about propaganda! They don't want movie stars to be valued above the govt., so they make example of them.

Decent fucking person. Most americans are such trash about their kids.

    All this for Weed? LOL
Seems a tad ridiculous to me. In Canada the punishment would have been the weed being confiscated by an officer that didn't really care.

That's just sad, I've watched Jackie's movie all my life but its week we're talking about, it has never ended a life of a single person, it helps cancer patients and let's face it, is a plant that is better and safer than all the pharmaceutical companies put together.

    Chinese propaganda machine strikes again

ashamed - yeah, for people still fearing weed.. I bet he smokes and that's fine.

Re: lisalisa – You are right, read elsewhere that China has already executed a dozen drug dealers and two dozen more are convicted. It may be "just weed" but it is their country, their laws, not the US or Canada. OK?
