Gay Georgia Teen Kicked Out Of His Home For Coming Out Raises Nearly $100,000, And He's Using The Money To Help Others In Need!

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayInspirationCharityFamilyLGBT

Daniel Pierce has raised nearly $100,000 after being kicked out of his own home!

Well it looks like this sad story is getting a very happy ending after all!

Last week, millions of viewers watched in horror as Kennesaw, Georgia, native Daniel Pierce captured the moment he was disowned, abused, and kicked out of his home by his family after he came out of the closet.

Fortunately, the 20-year-old's boyfriend David set up an account on GoFundMe to help him raise some money to start a new life, and in just 24 hours he raised an astounding $48,808!

Well the generosity has NOT stopped, as Daniel has now raised $93,765! That's not bad considering the original goal was simply $2,000 to help him get on his feet!!

With the huge influx of cash, Daniel is making sure to give back and is donating the funds to the Lost-N-Found charity, and he says he hopes his donations and experiences will help others in a similar situation to his:

"What I hope people take away from watching that is it still happens. A lot of people don't realize that it happens. They see all the positive videos and the negative video never gets seen so if one family maybe watches it and maybe changes their mind in how they are going to handle it about their son or daughter coming out, one family and I will be happy. I want to education people on the issue because it is something going on."

We can't even begin to speak to Daniel's strength and bravery to post that video in the first place, and it's great to see that he's using his experiences to help others in need!

Stay strong, Daniel!

So happy to hear he is donating the money. It always makes me uncomfortable when people trow money at a sad story instead of contributing to the organizations that help so many more than just one.

His parents should be ashamed of themselves. They obviously dont love their son!! I hope he goes on to do amazing things with his life, looks like he is on the right track. Shame shame on his parents!

I support the LGBT community..but this kid just whoring the cause. He is young. Why raised money, when he can go out and WORK…when out there are kids, families, pets…. without food in their mouth every night. Gotta give it to his bravery but I think hes twisting and whoring the story too much.

Yeah it's great until it comes out that the video is a fake and people feel stupid for donating. I'm always leery when someone sets up a gofundme account so soon. There has been a lot of sad stories proven to be fake. Why not donate to a real organization like GLAAD?

Personally I give to local homeless shelters, but whatever folks want to do is good.

Re: teeter totter – Some homeless shelters turn LGBT people away, so I can understand why he would want to assure the money goes to those in similar situations who are not so lucky.

Re: Crowley – He needs a place to stay! What you're saying is, we don't need to help the homeless, too, because they can go out and work. Unfortunately, life is not that easy.

Re: JW – YES…but he WASN'T HOMELESS. HE MADE A DECISION that cause that….WE MUST HELP EVERYONE….BUT HE IS YOUNG ..he can crash in his BF home or somre friends at the time he finds his way out NOT the easy way OUT…meanwhile people are dying out there. Better read again, u miz the point
