This is an interesting (and probably expected) reaction.
Lou Pearlman, the man who founded *NSYNC, the Backstreet Boys, LFO, O-Town, and a variety of other teenaged-pop groups in the 1990s and 2000s, has died. He was 62 years old.
Pearlman, though, wasn't just known for launching the careers of young men like Justin Timberlake.
He was also convicted of fraud, and sentenced to 25 years in prison back in 2008 after taking part in a massive $300 million Ponzi scheme.
The controversial music mogul's cause of death was not revealed.
Upon hearing the news, the former teen charges that worked under Pearlman and achieved lasting fame and built their careers from the ground up, had mixed reactions.
Word is that #LouPearlman has passed away. He might not have been a stand up businessman , but I wouldn't be doing what I love today wout his influence. RIP Lou
And other former artists under Pearlman's care also tweeted their thoughts (below):
If you haven't seen Greatest Hits, you're missing some great performances!
The ABC show features famous artists from the '80s, '90s, and '00s paired with contemporary musicians for some new takes on old songs!
While the possibilities are endless, on Thursday night's sophomore episode we already had our biggest duet dreams come true as Meghan Trainor, the Backstreet Boys, Tori Kelly, Jewel, and Hanson all performed!
Not only did we get the classic hits like Everybody from the BSB and MMMBop from the Hanson brothers, but Meghan joined the BSB for I Want It That Way and Tori paired up with Jewel for a duet of You Were Meant For Me!
Ch-ch-check out all the best performances from last night's new show (below) and let us know what two artists, new and old, you want to see join forces!
Talk about embarrassing!
On Sunday, Miss District of Columbia Deshauna Barber was named the winner of the 2016 Miss USA pageant and had A LOT better day than Miss California Nadia Mejia!
That's because when it came time for the question portion of the competition, Mejia — who was a favorite going into the competition — was asked about our current economy and well, her answer was pretty disastrous as you can tell by a clip of her answer (below):
We have a new Miss USA!
On Sunday, Steve Harvey got a break from the pageantry world as cohosts Julianne Hough and Terrence Jenkins hosted Miss USA — and they even announced the right name!
During the competition, not only did Ashley Graham give viewers a peek behind-the-scenes to show us what goes on backstage at pageants, but the Backstreet Boys performed both As Long As You Love Me and I Want it That Way!
But the most important moment of the night came when the final three ladies — Miss Hawaii, Miss Georgia, and Miss District of Columbia — took the stage to find out the new winner!
Unsurprisingly, Miss District of Columbia Deshauna Barber took the crown as both the crowd and judges seemed to adore her from the start! Miss Hawaii was named the runner-up and Miss Georgia was the second runner-up.
Well even though we did get to see 3/5 of the SG get together — which hopefully means more fun in the future — BSB recently confirmed that they will NOT be touring with the British ladies. WHOMP!
Over the weekend, the boys sat down with 103.4 KTU's Cubby and Carolina and dished on the rumors of the Wannabe ladies getting together with the longtime boy band but sadly A.J. McLean dished that plans have "kind of fizzed out," saying:
"From what I've heard, they want to do their own tour. I think it's their 20th anniversary, were back in the studio making a brand new album, so everyone's doing their own thing."
There is hope though as McLean also revealed:
"God willing, down the road, maybe it could happen. But as of right now it's not happening. They're doing their thing, we're focusing on our thing. But I think it would be something awesome if it did happen."
Even though we're closing in on the end of Lip Sync Battle's second season, we've apparently still got a few great performances left… and this week Gina Rodriguez is looking to go hard with her act!
While the Jane the Virgin actress' competition, Wilmer Valderrama, went the boyband route with his Backstreet Boys number, it looks like Gina's opening act is going to bring some attitude as she performs Lil Wayne's A Milli!
Not only does the 31-year-old nail her performance, but she really commits to the role as she dons a Young & Reckless hat AND a grill!
Ch-ch-check out Rodriguez's incredible performance (below) and let us know who you think will win the upcoming battle!
When it comes to lip syncing and dancing, there are few better songs you can choose than a boy band hit!
On Thursday, the That '70s Show alum is facing off again Jane the Virgin's Gina Rodriguez, and from the looks of it the 36-year-old has set the bar pretty high with his BSB moves!
Ch-ch-check out Wilmer's AH-Mazing performance and let us know who you'll be rooting for on LSB this week!
