Chelsea Handler didn't help to stifle speculation that she could replace Craig Ferguson yesterday!
But is the network really ready to give Craig the boot? Well, as much as they protest, CBS still hasn't extended the Late Late Show host's contract through next year!
And according to an inside source, even if they don't straight up let him go, CBS could be opting to make Craig an offer he CAN refuse! The source says:
First Rush Limbaugh and now Bill O'Reilly?
Before getting selected as David Letterman's Late Show replacement, Stephen Colbert was called an "ideological fanatical" and a "deceiver" by Bill!
Whoa, that's a pretty wild accusation there, Bill!
Now, Bill has since calmed down his rhetoric and called Stephen an "interesting choice," but has doubted whether he can compete with
The Late Show desk will belong to Stephen Colbert soon enough, but for next week, he'll just be stopping by for some recon.
Oh, and to talk to David Letterman! Of course! After all, it may be the last time ever!
OK, but he'll definitely be spending a little time sizing up his new digs too. We wonder if he'll actually bring measuring tape and wallpaper swatches!
Or maybe he'll be subtle about it. What? It could happen! Guess we'll just have to tune in on Thursday, April 22nd to find out!

Ooooooh! It looks like those reports of a CBS show coming for her WERE true!
But how do we know, you ask?
Well, Chelsea Handler took to her Instagram to show off an adorable picture of her dog, Chunk, sitting on her lap (above) but it was something ELSE that gave us the clue!
Look at what's in her hand! Some official looking papers from CBS!
Not only did she have the documents in her grasp, but her caption was pretty telling as well!
Ever since Stephen Colbert was announced as David Letterman's Late Show successor, the roving Reporter (don't even try to pronounce that) has garnered plenty of praise!
But everyone wants to know what his late night competition thinks!
Before the announcement, some wondered if the gap left by Letterman could leave room for MTV Movie Awards host Conan O'Brien to finally return to network TV!
Well, Conan has responded to that speculation with nothing but love for the man who got the job. He said:
Well, there is one cadre of people not happy Stephen Colbert's succession to The Late Show throne, and that's the #CancelColbert movement and its leaders!
Technically, The Colbert Show and the character of Stephen Colbert will be cancelled and retired respectively, as many were quick to jokingly point out, including Michael Ian Black on Twitter:
After vowing in a since deleted tweet to keep silent on the matter of Colbert's promotion, Suey Park and fellow activist Eunsong Kim had this to say in a Time Magazine op-ed:
David Letterman may be leaving CBS, but it would seem that despite some rumors that Craig Ferguson may be getting the axe (in lieu of Chelsea Handler perhaps), but it looks like our favorite Scot is here to stay.
In a recent interview, CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler evaded the question somewhat:
