Health officials in Florida say a strain of Vibrio vulnificus is to blame for sending dozens of beach-goers to the hospital this summer, with 10 people dying from their infections so far.
This bacteria is very similar to cholera and thrives in the warm salt waters off the Florida coast.
James Garcia, New York resident, had to face a cold hard fact of life recently: his dog was dying.

Well, James's dog, Elmo, was 16 when he was diagnosed with all sorts of doggy health problems, like liver cancer and kidney failure.
He'd only have a few months to live.

Florida Governor Rick Scott signed Senate Bill 1030 into law this week, and he had lots of support behind him. The bill passed 111-7 in the House and 30-9 in the Senate, so clearly Florida's legislators are all dope fiends. JK! LOLz!
