What an awesome idea!
On Tuesday, Panera Bread's CEO, Ron Shaich, announced the eatery's plan to drop 168 "unacceptable" ingredients from its menu by the end of 2016.

Ron's bold move was inspired by his children and his desire to act as an ally to healthy eaters.
The savvy CEO explained:
"My kids are eating Panera 10 to 11 times a week. I don't want to serve them junk. Consumers are looking for alternatives that are less processed. I would argue ‘clean' tastes better, as well as it is better for you."
Wow, we're impressed by Shaich's ability to self-reflect on his business practices and what's best for consumers!!
So, what does the business intend to drop?
According Mr.Shaich, the reformed menu will mostly focus on discontinuing chemical additives found in artificial flavors among other unhealthy preservatives.
"We are increasingly focused on what is in our food and ridding ourselves of a lot of chemical additives. That isn't going to go away. It is going to intensify, that discussion."
So awesome. What's better than healthy AND good tasting food?!
Keep up the good work, Panera!
