11-year-old Sarah Murnaghan is back home after almost six months in the hospital and two months after her controversial two double lung transplants this past June.
The little girl has been fighting severe cystic fibrosis, and was on a waiting list to receive pediatric lungs which are a long shot to ever be available. Her mother Janet Murnaghan went to the media and eventually whipped enough people into a frenzy until a judge allowed Sarah to receive a lung transplant from the adult waiting list.
And although some believe it's unfair Sarah was able to become an exception to the rule that children have to be at least twelve years old to receive an adult lung, Sarah's mother isn't worried about that.
She's only happy her little girl has a fighting chance now to survive.
