In today's episode of the rich and famous and their gold plated homes…Gianni Versace's former Miami Beach home is on the market for $125 MILLION.
The designer bought Casa Casuarina and the adjacent lot in 1992 for a cool $10 million, only to invest an additional $33 million into the property to add 6,100 square feet and a 54-foot-long mosaic-tiled pool lined with 24-karat gold.
Unfortunately, Gianni didn't get to enjoy his palace for very long because in 1997 he was murdered on the front steps after returning home from his morning walk.
The mansion was later purchased in 2000 by its current owner Peter Loftin for the low low price of $20 million and eventually turned it into a boutique hotel in 2009.
Wow. Talk about a great return on your investment!
We're curious to know who will be the next owner! Cough *Drake* Cough.
