Florence + The Machine Will Perform At The Oscars!!!

florence-welch-to-perform-at-oscars.jpg

Ahhhhhhhh-mazing!

This is shaping up to one fantastic evening!

We've just gotten word that due to a prior engagement, Dido will be unable to perform her Oscar nominated song "If I Rise" from 127 Hours at the Academy Awards.

So, Florence + the Machine is going to sing it instead! Yes! Talk about the best replacement ever!

But the fun doesn't end there! After the show is over, Florence has been invited to perform at Elton John and David Furnish's annual Oscar party benefiting the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Can you stand it?! What an amazing night it is going to be for you! Yay, Flo!

James Franco Talks Oscars, Wouldn't Ditch Class For Noms

Filed under: Film FlickersMedia MinuteAwardzJames FrancoPerezTVEvents

Check out the video (above) of James Franco talking about his upcoming Oscars hosting gig, as well as his nomination.

The studious actor claimed he wouldn't ditch his class at Yale to comment on his Best Actor nom for 127 Hours at The Today Show in NYC.

Let's just hope there are no lectures going on at Yale during the night of the Oscars, otherwise we might have to find another host.

Ha!

How Nice! Franco Bros To Work Together

Filed under: Film FlickersAwardzJames FrancoDave Franco

franco bros to work together

Too bad they couldn't have teamed up for 127 Hours. It would have DEF been easier for James to cut off his own arm with an extra pair of hands. Ha!

In all seriousness though, we think it's kind of sweet to hear that James Franco is planning on working with his younger brother Dave.

Here's what Dave Franco had to say about collaboration plans with his big bro:

"…There's also a feature film that I'm writing for my brother and I to star in, where we play versions of ourselves named Davie and James. Without giving away too much, it all takes place around Thanksgiving and Christmas break around our hometown of Palo Alto [California]. Our real family will be in it, my real friends from home will be in it, and the vibe of it is going to be an extended version of our Funny or Die videos. It's going to be difficult for me, because it's now a 90-minute version of him giving me sh– and making fun of me."

And here's Dave on the possibility of working on something with James for the Oscars:

"There's been talks of us doing a digital short for that. We'll see, though. Potentially another installment in the Acting With James Franco. We'll see."

All sounds great to us! We'll look forward to seeing what U two put together, bbs!

Batman Needs Women! Keira Knightley & Jessica Biel In The Running!

batman needs women

Maybe they can bring back Batman & Robin's Alicia Silverstone! LOLs.

As The Dark Knight Rises approacheth, Christopher Nolan is seeking actresses for both a villain AND love interest role.

According to sources, some top contenders for these roles include Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway, and Jessica Biel, who will perform screen tests within the next two weeks.

Other contenders include 127 Hours' Kate Mara, Easy Virtue's Charlotte Riley, and Alice Creed Gemma Arterton.

Some inneresting choices…could be cool to see what Anne could do with a villain role!

We've certainly seen her dark side before in Rachel Getting Married, so we know she's capable of it.

What actresses would U like to see in The Dark Knight Rises?

James Franco Refers To Himself As James Franco!

Nothing wrong with referring to yourself in the third person. Perez Hilton does it all the time! Ha!

As James Franco and Co. continue to promote his new flick 127 hours overseas, some eccentric details about Franco's, um, acting process have been revealed. Director Danny Boyle explained to one source:

"While we were shooting the film, he would sometimes ask me, 'What do you want him to do?' I would say, What do you mean? He would say, 'What do you want from him in this scene?' You mean your character? 'No, no. Franco. What do you want from Franco?' He was talking about himself in the third person…I said, 'Well, I think he should be more emotional.' And he said, 'Oh, I can get him to do that.' And then he'd do the scene and he'd be amazing."

Hey, if it works for James Franco, we say roll with it! The flick has gotten nothing but positive reviews so James Franco's got to be doing something right.

Don't you agree, James Franco?

James Franco On Hosting The Oscars

james franco talks oscars

It makes sense. He's done absolutely everything else!

Earlier this month, James Franco spoke about his decision to host the Oscars on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Now, he's got even more to say about it.

Here's what Franco had to say to Entertainment Tonight about why he decided to host the Oscars:

“When he asked me to host, I was very, very surprised, and my initial reaction was ‘No,' then I thought about it and I thought, well, why not? Because I’ll look bad? Well, I don’t care.

When we finally met and discussed it in person, all my representatives were saying, ‘No! Of course not! So that always sparks something in me. So I said, ‘Yes, of course!’ Because that reaction that they have is based on conventional wisdom of what makes a good career. And that can be boring — really boring.

I’m front and center, but … I feel confident. I’m happy to take the criticism. Even if it’s ‘The Worst Oscars Ever,’ I don’t care. It’s one night of the year.”

We LOVE your attitude, James! We're excited to see you host, and who knows? Maybe you'll host AND win for 127 Hours and make history!

We're rooting for you, bb!
