Did CBS Make A Bad Move? Network Passes On How I Met Your Dad, But Someone Else Is Ready To Add The Budding Spinoff To Their Line Up!

how i met your mother how i met your dad cbs not angry disappointed

Remember when we told you How I Met Your Dad was passed on by CBS, despite the fact that they were committed to the pilot way back in November?

Well, we finally have insight on why the network decided to not pick up HIMYD, and it's not because they thought it would be a flop!

Nina Tassler at CBS explained their reason for not picking up the spinoff, she said:

"There were elements of the pilot that didn't work out, [but the brass at the network] love this show and we love these producers.

I'm heartsick. We love this brand and we love this show, but it didn't work out."

Nina also revealed the network reached out to HIMYM creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas to redo the pilot to their liking, but the producers wouldn't budge.

As per a source close to the negotiation process, the studio and producers didn't agree to reshoot the pilot without CBS picking up the series.

Which totally makes sense. You wouldn't want all your efforts to go to waste because there is a chance it won't pick it up!

CBS still has until midnight tonight to pick up the series, if they changed their mind, or else other networks like 20th Century Fox will scoop up that gem!

Good luck on finding your new home, HIMYD!

Filed under: TV NewsFilm FlickersRobin WilliamsGIFsNostalgia

mrs doubtfire wins yeah

Oooooh dearie! Don't tell Miss Congeniality fans about this!

Even though you FEEL like the Sandra Bullock movie is on all the time, it's NOT!

Turns out that Robin Williams' famed film Mrs. Doubtfire has won the title of the most aired movie on basic cable in 2013!

Which is fitting since it marked its 20-year anniversary last year!

Apparently the film was shown a total of 66 times during the course of the year!

Totally good news for the sequel!

Even though Mara Wilson doesn't want any part in the film, seems like everyone else in the world is ready for more Doubtfire!

We just hope that the second is as good as the first!

Percy Jackson The Musical Coming To A Stage Near You?!? Plus, Five OTHER Movies Possibly Making The Transition From Screen To Stage!

percy jackson being turned into a musical

Making the transition from a movie to a Broadway play is not easy, just ask Spider-Man: Into the Dark!

However, that doesn't mean the industry sure doesn't try.

Reportedly, the newest film being turned into an off-Broadway musical is the modern-day Greek mythology film Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief, starring Logan Lerman!

However, PJ isn't the only film coming to a stage near you!

Universal has its eyes set on two VERY well-known movies, one which starred Jim Belushi, the other starring a young Michael J. Fox!

AND 20th Century Fox has one of Meryl Streep's bitchiest roles coming to the stage AND Robin Williams' most famous cross-dressing character!

OH! And finally, Warner Bros is planning an extra special, stripper-filed Channing Tatum-inspired flick-to-stage transition as well!

Ch-ch-check out which other five HUGE movies are being eyed to make the transition…AFTER THE JUMP!!!

A new Wolverine movie could be regenerating faster than Wolverine's cells!

Apparently, the director of The Wolverine, James Mangold, is in talks with 20th Century Fox to return this time to write the treatment for another installment featuring the cigar smoking, adamantium-filled mutant played by Hugh Jackman!

This news gets our retractable 12-inch claws at half mast! SHING!

The storyline is being kept under tight wraps, but if it's half as epic as the trailer for X Men: Days of Future Past, we know the story will be fuller than Wolverine's sideburns!

We'll keep our claws crossed hoping that the necessary parties ink the deal to get this movie made!
