Bones Stars Emily Deschanel & David Boreanaz Are Suing FOX For Allegedly Cheating Them Out Of $100 Million In Unpaid Profits!

Filed under: TV NewsLegal MattersBusiness Blitz

And they aren't the only ones suing the studio!

Wooooooow. That's a LOT of money!

And now, the stars and producers of Bones want the network to pay up! On Monday, Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz — who play the leads on the popular program — filed a complaint against FOX regarding unpaid profits!

The actors are suing 20th Century Fox with Kathy Reichs, who wrote the books from which the show is adapted.

The 67-year-old and the TV stars allege that the studio has used phony accounting to cheat them out of "tens of millions of dollars."

The legal docs claim the three "were being cheated out of more than $100 million in gross revenues and being overcharged many additional millions of dollars in alleged expenses."

Yikes. If that's true, it's definitely not fair!

Because of rights — and her role as executive producer — the author was supposedly due five percent of the show's profits. Emily and David were each allegedly owed 3 percent.

But that's not the only suit the studio is facing over the dramedy! Barry Josephson decided to sue last week, because he also feels like he hasn't been given the payment he deserves!

The executive producer claims that network execs Gary Newman and Dana Walden threatened to cancel the show unless he agreed to lower licensing fees for the fifth and sixth seasons.

That sounds shady to us! But what do U think, Perezcious readers? SOUND OFF in the comments!

If you don't know The Boondock Saints, we suggest you track down a copy immediately!

The 1999 classic is full of quotable lines, insane action, and did we mention The Walking Dead's Daryl Dixon and his hot non-Merle brother??

After the film's direct-to-video release (it was a Blockbuster exclusive, remember those??), it became a cult hit and even spawned the fair 2009 sequel Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day.

We may not be getting the end of the trilogy yet, but we're getting the next best thing! A TV show!

Writer/director Troy Duffy is penning a prequel series that will reveal the origins of the vigilante MacManus brothers. Duffy said:

"For years I've been obsessed with telling a real origin story with Boondock, and IM Global TV has stepped up. Television is the perfect medium to explore these controversial characters on a much deeper level and to bring Boondock Saints to a whole new audience."

Even original stars Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flanery are on board!

Though they're obvi too old to play younger versions of themselves from 16 years ago, they are in talks to exec produce.

There is no air date in mind yet as the potential series hasn't even found a showrunner yet.

But it's enough for Boondock fans to have hope that the story isn't over!

So There's Going To Be A Play-Doh Movie… And Bridesmaids Director Paul Feig Is Doing It??

Word on the street is 20th Century Fox is making a deal with Hasbro to make a live-action film based on one of their best products:

Play-Doh!

We guess the Lego movie was so successful, they feel they can make any toy into a movie. Wonderful. (Sarcasm.)

Though if there were one person (other than the team of Phil Lord & Chris Miller, who did the Lego movie) who could make the Play-Doh movie amazing, it'd probably be Paul Feig.

Even though Feig is super busy with the all-woman Ghostbusters reboot, we're sure he'll make time for Play-Doh.

But can Feig mold Play-Doh into an enjoyable film? Especially a live-action film??

We guess we'll have to wait and see.

Do U think Play-Doh will make a good movie?? Let us know in the comments!!

Did CBS Make A Bad Move? Network Passes On How I Met Your Dad, But Someone Else Is Ready To Add The Budding Spinoff To Their Line Up!

how i met your mother how i met your dad cbs not angry disappointed

Remember when we told you How I Met Your Dad was passed on by CBS, despite the fact that they were committed to the pilot way back in November?

Well, we finally have insight on why the network decided to not pick up HIMYD, and it's not because they thought it would be a flop!

Nina Tassler at CBS explained their reason for not picking up the spinoff, she said:

"There were elements of the pilot that didn't work out, [but the brass at the network] love this show and we love these producers.

I'm heartsick. We love this brand and we love this show, but it didn't work out."

Nina also revealed the network reached out to HIMYM creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas to redo the pilot to their liking, but the producers wouldn't budge.

As per a source close to the negotiation process, the studio and producers didn't agree to reshoot the pilot without CBS picking up the series.

Which totally makes sense. You wouldn't want all your efforts to go to waste because there is a chance it won't pick it up!

CBS still has until midnight tonight to pick up the series, if they changed their mind, or else other networks like 20th Century Fox will scoop up that gem!

Good luck on finding your new home, HIMYD!
