Last week, HBO revealed that the fantasy series might only have 13 episodes left after the upcoming sixth season.

And while executives and the Thrones showrunners aren't thinking about prequels or spin-offs just yet, George R.R. Martin assures us that "there is certainly no lack of material" for another show!

Once Game Of Thrones author George R.R. Martin announced that the HBO series would outpace his A Song of Ice and Fire saga, fans were upset that the show's upcoming sixth season would spoil the next novel.

But fans of the books can expect a major twist in The Winds of Winter that definitely WON'T be on TV — because it features a character that was already killed off in the show!

In a new interview with IGN, the author confirmed he is moving forward with the narrative convolution in his forthcoming novel that he was debating writing last year.

Winter Is Still Coming! HBO Renews Game Of Thrones For Two More Seasons — But Will Season Eight Be The Last?

Breaking records every year with Emmy wins and illegal views, it's no secret that Game Of Thrones is in HIGH demand!

And HBO is making sure to ride the cash dragon for all its worth — by renewing the fantasy drama for another two seasons!

At Thursday's Television Critics Association's winter press tour, programming president Michael Lombardo said the premium cable network is finalizing a dual order for seasons seven and eight of the series based on George R.R. Martin's books!

Game Of Thrones is no stranger to multi-season orders. Back in 2014, HBO renewed the rating juggernaut for seasons five and six.

UK bookseller Waterstones tweeted — and then deleted — author George R. R. Martin's original pitch for A Song Of Ice And Fire way back in 1993, and it reveals a lot about the future of the series!

Or at least, the series that would have been. So much of the plot completely changed!

Jane Johnson of house HarperCollins broke the news that apart from a collection of previously released prequel novellas, there is nothing on the books for this year. She said:

Who knew sci-fi lovers were such horn dogs!!

The definite lack of gay sex and bisexuality in George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire book series has been widely discussed, but never answered.

So now, the author is revealing exactly why that's the case — and we have a feeling it's going to make fans even MORE pissy!

While speaking at the Edinburgh International Book Festival on Monday night, George said he faces certain limitations, because he's writing through "viewpoint characters"…
