Three Dead After High School Wrestling Coach Catches Star Student's Mother In Bed With His Best Friend & Fellow Coach

It's horrifying that a man would do this — especially to a teenage boy with his entire life ahead of him.

A high school wrestling coach and a teenaged wrestler in Hermiston, Oregon are dead after they were allegedly murdered by another coach on the team.

The coach in question later turned the gun on himself and committed suicide after also shooting and seriously injuring a woman identified as his ex, in a tragic love triangle situation gone horribly wrong.

Coach Kenneth E. Valdez (above, left) and 14-year-old student James 'J.J.' Hurtado (above, right) are dead, and Hurtado's mother, 35-year-old Andria Bye, is seriously wounded after being shot by Hermiston High School wrestling coach Jason E. Huston on Thursday.

Huston then committed suicide, according to authorities.

Soccer Star Dead After Being Tasered By Police

A well-known English soccer player has died after being tasered by police, and those around him are shocked about the sudden tragedy.

Dalian Atkinson, who was best known for his time playing for Aston Villa of the Premier League in the 1990s, was battling kidney problems and a weak heart when he was tasered by cops in Telford, Shropshire, UK during a confrontation early Monday morning.

The 48-year-old had undergone dialysis recently, and had spent an "extended period" in a hospital, according to reports — his uncle Fabian Atkinson spoke about Dalian's health and the causes that tragically led to his death (below):

Kenny Baker, The Man Who Played R2-D2 In The Star Wars Films, Has Passed Away At 81

So sad — a true legend in his own right has passed.

Kenny Baker shot to fame in 1977 when he played R2-D2 in the first Star Wars film, and he went on to play the character in a total of five more films in the series between then and 2005.

Now, news has come down that he has sadly passed away.

The 3' 8" actor — who also appeared in many much-loved films of the 1980s like The Elephant Man, Flash Gordon, and Time Bandits — was 81 years old.

According to his niece Abigail Shield, the passing was not particularly unexpected, as she told The Guardian:

Olympic Weightlifter's Grandmother Collapses And Dies While Celebrating His Medal Win

This is so sad, at such a bittersweet moment for this poor Olympian.

Thaliand's Sinphet Kruaithong became the first male weightlifter to ever medal for his country at the Olympics on Sunday when he earned the bronze medal in weightlifting's 56-kilogram division in Rio.

But the amazing moment very quickly turned tragic.

During the ensuing celebration back in Kruaithong's hometown of Surin, half a continent away from Brazil, his grandmother collapsed and died during the eruption of national pride and family support.

82-year-old Subin Khongthap reportedly fainted at the live viewing party for Kruaithong's achievement, according to media reports, and never actually witnessed her grandson win the bronze medal.

At some point after collapsing, she regained consciousness and was transported to the hospital, but she died there roughly an hour later.

Just before the event, she had spoken to the local media about her grandson (below):

Toya Wright's two brothers Rudy and Josh were reportedly shot to death in New Orleans over the weekend.

According to reports from TMZ and others, New Orleans police found two men suffering multiple gun shot wounds in a car very early Sunday morning.

The police have not yet officially identified Rudy and Josh to the public, but Toya has — and a few hours ago, she posted to Instagram with the picture of them (above) and a message of shock and sadness (below):

NBA Legend Nate Thurmond Passes Away At 74

The loss of a sports legend — and a direct inspiration to LeBron James.

Nate Thurmond died on Friday after succumbing to a short battle with leukemia. The NBA legend and Hall of Famer was 74 years old.

Thurman set all kinds of NBA records and spent 14 years in the league, 11 of which were in San Francisco with the Golden State Warriors.

He was a seven-time league All-Star, too, and became the first player in league history when, in 1974, he recorded an official quadruple double (double digits in points, rebounds, assists, and blocks).

The Warriors' team president, Joe Lacob, released a statement following Thurman's death:

"We've lost one of the most iconic figures in the history of not only our organization, but the NBA in general."
