So sad.

According to reports, Tony Dyson — who built Star Wars droid R2-D2 — is dead at the age of 68.

Dyson's body was discovered in his home on the Maltese island of Gozo after friends told police they hadn't seen him for a number of days.

Police are investigating, but there is no immediate suspicion of foul play — and he is believed to have passed away from natural causes.

Back in the 1970s, Dyson was working at the White Horse Toy Company in the U.K. when he was hired to build eight different versions of the beloved droid for George Lucas' Star Wars films.

He also worked on visual effects on films like Superman II, Dragon Slayer, and the James Bond movie Moonraker.

What an impressive career! Our hearts go out to Dyson's loved ones at this time.

ICYMI: George Lucas Called Disney 'White Slavers' After Seeing Star Wars: The Force Awakens!

Filed under: TV NewsFilm FlickersDisneyStar Wars

Dayum, George!

When he first saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens, George Lucas' official statement was that he thought the fans would like it. While that didn't exactly sound like he himself was enthused, it wasn't out-and-out shade.

But THIS on the other hand…

In an interview with Charlie Rose that originally aired Christmas Day (hence it going under the radar), the director laments selling his creation to Disney.

He seems very upset that the Mouse House — after paying him over $4 billion for the franchise rights — chose not to use his ideas for the next films.

George even jokes that he sold his "children" to "white slavers." He must HATE The Force Awakens, which he refers to as "retro."

What do YOU think??

Would George Lucas have made a better Episode VII??

What an incredible performance!

On Tuesday night, CBS aired The Kennedy Center Honors — which recognizes important people in the performing arts for their contributions during their lifetime — and it was AH-Mazing as expected.

The night was hosted by Stephen Colbert, and this year's incredible honorees were Carole King, George Lucas, Rita Moreno, Seiji Ozawa, and Cicely Tyson.

However, there was a hiccup in this year's honors as the legendary rock band the Eagles were also supposed to be honored, but due to Glenn Frey's "health complications", the band opted to wait until next year.

Luckily for us, the show decided to give the band some recognition this year anyway and had Miranda Lambert perform a beautiful cover of their hit ballad Desperado.

Ch-ch-check out the wonderful performance (below) and let us know how you think it stacks up to the original!

Leonardo DiCaprio Was Almost Anakin Skywalker In The Star Wars Prequels — Find Out Why He Turned It Down!

no title

We can't even begin to imagine this!

You know how Leonardo DiCaprio is pretty much the most famous actor alive?

Well, it turns out he could have been even bigger because according to a recent report he almost starred in the Star Wars prequels way back in 1999!

Apparently, fresh off of his breakout role in Titanic, George Lucas was interested in getting Leo attached to The Phantom Menace and Attack Of The Clones.

Related: Hayden Christensen Was Almost In The Force Awakens

But after a few meetings, the Revenant actor decided against joining the franchise because he wasn't "ready" for such a commitment.

Anakin Skywalker was then famously played by Hayden Christensen for three critically underwhelming movies while Leonardo went on to rule the A-List thanks to The Aviator, Blood Diamond, Inception, Wolf of Wall Street, and a whole bunch of other hits, so we think he made the right decision.

Although, who knows… maybe that could have been his Oscar winner??

Would U have been interested in a Leo-filled galaxy far, far away??
