Trump Of Thrones! See Which Game Of Thrones Characters The Trump Administration Would Be!

Filed under: TV NewsPolitikDonald TrumpGame Of Thrones

Shortly after Donald Trump was elected president, George R.R. Martin penned a blog post forecasting America's doom, writing: "Winter is coming. I told you so."

Several months, three looming wars, and one deadly Nazi rally later, it's clear the Game Of Thrones author wasn't exaggerating!

At first, Trump's team seemed like a bunch of amateur carnival performers — but now, it's clear he's backed by a council of villainous, bloodthirsty chess players straight out of King's Landing.

So, we thought it would be more than appropriate to assign Trump's people to their Westerosi counterparts!

As for the Big Cheeto, he started out seeming like a Joffrey Baratheon — but after months of commanding the Iron Throne Oval Office, it's clear he's a much more dangerous ruler!

See who makes up our White House King's Council (below)!

These Wild & Weird Game Of Thrones Fan Theories Will Give Your Brain A Total Beatdown!

no title

Like many series with a passionate fandom, Game Of Thrones has no shortage of fan theories on each end of the believability spectrum.

Some of these hypotheses turn out to be true: like the so-perfect-it-has-to-work R+L=J theory, which was confirmed in the Season 6 finale after Jon Snow's true parentage was revealed.

But not every postulation pans out, like the mind-blowing Season 6 theory that Arya Stark and The Waif, her tormentor at the House of Black and White, were actually the SAME PERSON.

A three-eyed Reddit user theorized the Stark girl's personality split after joining the Faceless Men — and The Waif merely represented her killer instinct bent on destroying what's left of Arya so she could become No One.

Truly poetic… but as it turned out, George R.R. Martin had a much less cerebral approach in mind to close out The Waif's story.

The Arya/Waif Theory isn't the only double-identity theory cooked up by fans. Find out what other weird shit could (but probably won't) go down in Westeros when the show returns tonight (July 16) on HBO!

George R.R. Martin Breaks Silence On Game Of Thrones Spinoffs — Says Upcoming Series WON'T Feature Current Characters!

More Westeros stories are coming, Game of Thrones fans.

Though some are hoping for their favorite characters to return for the forthcoming spinoffs, George R.R. Martin is reminding us not to expect anything along the lines of Starks In Charge or Tyrion: God of Tits and Wine.

The series mastermind broke his silence about the GoT prequels in development at HBO and dropped a Blackwater-sized firebomb of news: none of the spinoffs will be about current characters — which is why he won't even refer to the new shows as "spin-offs"!

Posting to his blog on Sunday night, he wrote:

"None of these new shows will be ‘spinning off' from GoT in the traditional sense. We are not talking Joey or AfterMASH or even [Frasier] or Lou Grant, where characters from one show continue on to another. So all of you who were hoping for the further adventures of Hot Pie are doomed to disappointment. Every one of the concepts under discussion is a prequel, rather than a sequel. Some may not even be set on Westeros."

What!? No more Arya, Jon, or Daenerys? That doesn't bode well for our faves making it through the rest of the Thrones timeline…

Still, those who have actually see the Friends spinoff Joey will probably join our collective sigh of relief over this news.

Martin's update wasn't entirely disappointing — he noted there is now a FIFTH pilot script in development instead of the previously reported four.

Even better, he's officially credited as a co-writer on two of the four previously announced prequels — and is creatively involved on all of the series to some degree. He continued:

A Game Of Thrones Spin-Off Is Totally Fucking Happening, RIGHT?!

no title

Game Of Thrones may be coming to an end sooner than we'd like, but that doesn't mean we've seen the last of Westeros!

Over the weekend, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss confirmed a few rumors about the final two seasons of the Emmy-winning series — along with any future shows that might be adapted from the fucked up mind of George R.R. Martin.

Appearing at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, Weiss and Benioff took part in a Q&A hosted by Stark sisters Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams.

During the sit down, the producers confirmed Ed Sheeran would be making an appearance in the upcoming season, and revealed that the final eighth season would only be six episodes long.

But that tragic news came with a silver lining when the writers were asked about the show's future, as the dynamic duo suggested a Westerosi spin-off was likely to happen.

Addressing speculation around a potential spin-off involving the surviving characters, they said:

Game Of Thrones may only have two seasons left until winter's end, but that doesn't mean the adventures in Westeros have to end with it!

HBO exec Casey Bloys has revealed the premium cable network is currently in talks to launch a prequel series to its Emmy-winning hit!

Speaking to The Wrap, the network's programming president said they were exploring ideas to make more of the bloody fantasy world come to life, explaining:

"We've talked very, very kind of high-level, like, ‘Oh, that would be interesting, a prequel would be interesting, are there areas that make more sense?' But we haven't — no one has put pen to paper — yet. It's still pretty early on."

Though we still have two more years until the show's conclusion, this isn't the first talk of a spinoff to the fantasy phenomenon.
