Set to pen the script is Aaron Sorkin, who is no stranger to big budget biopics. Sorkin won an Oscar for his Mark Zuckerberg script The Social Network, and he also has a Steve Jobs film coming out later this year!

Ball has previously been the subject of two TV movies — 2003's Lucy starring Rachel York, and 1991's Lucy & Desi starring Frances Fisher!

We don't want to get our hopes up, but we can smell the award buzz already!

Well, it looks like the campaign of folks trying to get the monstrosity — dubbed "Scary Lucy" by the locals — taken down may have worked!

This Scary Statue Was Meant To HONOR Lucille Ball?! Residents Now Want It Gone Because It's More Frightening Than Flattering!

Lucille Ball is definitely a beautiful and talented woman who deserves to be honored, but we're not so sure this is the way to do it.

This statue of the I Love Lucy actress (above) has been placed in her hometown of Celoron, New York since 2009, but residents there are finally in an uproar about it.

Why?? Well probably because it looks straight-up terrifying instead of adorably charming like the real Lucille.

One resident has decided to take action against the statue and start a Facebook page called "We Love Lucy! Get Rid of this Statue" to get rid of the not-so-flattering statue. And the page already has over 2,600 likes at the time of this posting.

However, the residents who want to see it gone might have a fight ahead of them because the Mayor of Celoron, Scott Schrecengost, has said that it would cost between $8,000 and $10,000 to have the same artist re-do the statue.

Looks like this unloved Lucy might be here to stay.

Young Hollywood Comes Out To Play During This 1989 Oscars Musical! See All Of Your Current Faves Do Their Thangs!

Back in 1989, there was no Twitter, but there were some incredible actors and actresses who would grow up to have one! Ha!

This clip is from the Young Hollywood musical number during the Oscars that year, which was introduced by Lucille Ball and Bob Hope. It’s been too long since we heard that contagious Lucy laugh! Sadly, she passed away just around a month after this moment.

But the performance is just phenomenal, with Holly Robinson Peete and Ricki Lake belting it out, and Patrick Dempsey slaying some air monsters!

Some of the other awesome performers are Blair Underwood, Christian Slater, and Corey Feldman.

Loves it!

Ch-ch-check out the old New Hollywood magic (above)!
