Part of this is exciting… but for now it's mostly very disappointing.
The Supreme Court is likely going to review the country's laws regarding same-sex marriage, which is a good thing! But, we mean, it has to happen because the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit reversed ruling that struck down the ban on same-sex marriage in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee. And that sucks.
Circuit Judge Jeffrey Sutton gave a 42-page opinion, basically stating that marriage is a state issue, not a federal issue. He added that in 1972, the Supreme Court ruled, "[it's the] right of the people of a state to define marriage as they see it."
