Looks like he's itching for that much-needed break to be over!
Michael Sam, who became known as the first openly gay football player in the NFL, says he's hoping to be back on the roster for the 2016 season!
The inspirational athlete announced on Twitter last month that he was leaving the league — temporarily — because of mental health reasons.

But it looks like he's ready and willing for the coach to put him back in! Unfortunately, this year's season JUST started, so it looks like he has a while to wait.
Not to mention, he has to get picked to play again.
However, the 25-year-old feels confident he can show the coaches he's worth signing — and totally focused on football — and has already fired his publicist and agent!
But since next season is still a ways off, Michael says, in the meantime, he's trying his hand at sportscasting, explaining:
"It's been a roller coaster. I've been trying to figure out what's next in my life. I've just come to a conclusion, as I take this break from football, I want to focus on my media training."
