Mother Allegedly Doused Teenage Daughter With Gasoline & Threatened To Set Her On Fire Over A Bad Test Grade
A Washington state mother was arrested after allegedly dousing her teenage daughter with gasoline and threatening to set her on fire over a bad test score.
Lisa Kyles was taken into custody on November 11, the day after the incident, and charged with attempted assault and harassment.
According to reports, police responded to an active domestic dispute at an apartment building, with at least one of the callers claiming an argument between a mother and daughter was escalating.
The 44-year-old mother, who is homeless, had allegedly fled the area by the time police arrived on the scene. Responding officers found Kyles' 14-year-old daughter, who allegedly smelled of gasoline.
The "visibly shaken" teen was crying as she told officials her head and hand hurt from being assaulted. Kyles' daughter alleged she was in her mother's parked van hours earlier when her older sister started criticizing her for a bad grade she received on a school test.
