Cher Musical Being Pitched To Hamilton Producers — But Someone STILL Hasn't Approved The Script!

If we could turn forward time, we'd head straight to opening night!

Ever since Cher confirmed a musical based on her life was still in the works, we've been patiently waiting to hear more about the Broadway show!

And now that new details have emerged, it looks like we can officially get excited!!

The music icon has been working with Tony Award winning writer Rick Elice, who is presenting the project to producers — including Hamilton's Jeffrey Seller – on Wednesday.

According to The New York Post, Seller will co-produce with Flody Suarez, who was reportedly the one who persuaded Cher to do the musical in the first place!

The show will feature several of the pop star's hits, including I Got You Babe, Take Me Home, Believe, and If I Could Turn Back Time.

If the play gets through this round, it will be presented to the 69-year-old herself on May 20 — where she will hopefully give the final hair flip of approval.

The star previously stated that the musical would feature three different actresses portraying her at different stages in her life.

The first will play a young Cher through the "Sonny and Cher" era, followed by another portraying the songstress during her Believe tour — and a third to play the legend at the current point in her life.

With hit songs, successful producers, and a fascinating subject matter — we're pretty sure this musical is a guaranteed hit!

Hamilton Is Officially A Pulitzer Prize-Winning Musical! Find Out Why That's So Rare!

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Hamilton!

They didn't throw away their shot!

It seems like most people have been addicted to Hamilton ever since it opened on Broadway last year, and now, the acclaimed musical is taking home a HUGE honor to justify everyone's insane obsession!

On Monday, the Alexander Hamilton-inspired production received this year's Pulitzer Prize for Drama!

This is an even bigger deal when you take into account only nine musicals have ever won the award over plays. The most recent ones to claim the prize were Next to Normal in 2010 and then all the way back to Rent in 1996!

And, Lin Manuel-Miranda's show received this rare recognition on the 100th anniversary of the awards, which celebrate impressive work in the arts and journalism.

Nice!

We're so proud of the cast and crew, and are SURE this is a good sign for Hamilton's chances at the 70th Annual Tony Awards later this year!

The 30-year-old joined the reality TV series full-time during its fifth season, and has competed every year since. He has won a total of six times, including last year's victory with Bindi Irwin.

The Utah-native is most likely skipping this year's festivities because he has been cast in the Broadway production of Singin' In the Rain. The musical will open next January.

Hough isn't the only member of his family to ditch DWTS. Sister Julianne Hough will not be returning as a judge.

Hopefully we will see you soon Derek!

The Martian Gets A Laugh Track To Make It 'Best Comedy' Material — See What Other Films The Golden Globes Shouldn't Have Considered Comedies!

Filed under: Matt DamonFilm FlickersYouTubeGolden GlobesOscarsFunny

With 6 Oscars nominations, it's no doubt that The Martian was a great film.

But when Ridley Scott's space epic won the Golden Globe for Best Comedy or Musical, audiences were a bit confused with its comedic categorization!

The Matt Damon-led pic definitely had a good chunk of jokes, but even the director himself made fun of its misplaced genre!

To prove that The Martian REALLY didn't win for its humor, one YouTube user strung together some intense clips of the clip with an old school laugh track — and it's (ironically?) hilarious!

But this film isn't the only not-so-funny "comedy" the Globes put into the category! Find out which other acclaimed films were miscategorized (below)!
