Matt Damon Has ALL The Wrong Opinions While Discussing Harvey Weinstein, Louis C.K., & Al Franken's Respective Scandals

matt damon sexual misconduct interview

What a disaster of an interview.

On Thursday, Matt Damon tried to tackle the many controversial sexual misconduct scandals which have plagued Hollywood — and totally put his foot in his mouth in the process. While speaking with ABC News' Peter Travers about the post-Harvey Weinstein era that is currently upon us, Damon noted that it was "wonderful that women are feeling empowered to tell their stories."

However, the A-lister then insisted that there is a "spectrum of behavior" and suggested that not all misconduct should result in loss of work. You've gotta be kidding us.

VOTE: Armie Hammer Apologizes To Casey Affleck — But Does Affleck Deserve It??

Even before he was being called a beneficiary of white privilege in an article that eventually led him to delete his Twitter account, Armie Hammer was courting controversy.

In one interview, he spoke about the unfair "double standard" in how his Birth Of A Nation director Nate Parker and Manchester By The Sea star Casey Affleck were treated by the media and the industry.

With Nate in "director's jail" and Casey having a Best Actor Oscar on his shelf, it's easy to see his point.

This unsavory claim came to light in a class-action lawsuit which six women recently filed against the Hollywood heavyweight. In the legal document, it's alleged that Zellweger and Charlize Theron both furthered their acting careers by performing "sexual favors" for the 65-year-old.

Apparently, Weinstein told the one actress "that Renée Zellweger, Charlize, Theron and other actresses gave sexual favors." And then asked the aspiring starlet if she wanted her career to be "more than just this little teen film?" Gross.

Upon realizing her name was allegedly used in a manipulation tactic, Renée's camp set the record straight about her professional relationship with Harvey. In a statement to the press, a rep for the industry vet noted:

In case you didn't know, Jennifer Lawrence and Oprah Winfrey are on a texting basis.

The A-listers hung out for the first time on October 5. J.Law drove to Oprah's Montecito, California estate for a lunch, where, according to the talk show queen, the two "were just like 'girls in the garden.'"

Over the three-plus hour chat, the pair discussed life, fame, spirituality, and philosophy — but one topic they didn't cover was Harvey Weinstein, whose history of predatory behavior came into public view that same day.

So, when The Hollywood Reporter asked the Big O to interview the Oscar-winner for this year's Women in Entertainment issue, Weinstein was of course among the many topics that was brought up.

Lawrence, who worked with Weinstein early on in her career, already condemned the indie movie mogul's behavior after the scandal first broke.

But sitting down with Oprah allowed the 27-year-old to open up more about her relationship with the disgraced producer — whom, she said had always been "paternal" to her, explaining:
