The 24-year-old received a standing ovation as she stood there in a dress specifically made in collaboration with Tom Ford to pay homage to Carrie's iconic white Princess Leia gown.

So awesome! Loves it!

Addressing the large crowd, Billie said:

"My mom used to say she never knew where Princess Leia ended and Carrie Fisher began. She went from being an unknown actress, the daughter of Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher, to Princess Leia…My mom, like Leia, was never afraid to speak her mind…She loved you. She loved these movies. And she loved this force called Leia. In our world, Star Wars became a religion and a way of life. I wanted to be here with you because I know you feel the same way."

We're totally getting teary-eyed here!

The actress also spoke of the important lessons imparted to her by her mother, saying:

Lucasfilm Announces There Are 'No Plans' To Digitally Recreate Carrie Fisher As Princess Leia

no title

This is such good news to hear — and so smart of Lucasfilm to address it publicly.

After lots of rumors swirled around fan sites and social media this week, Lucasfilm has issued a relatively rare statement concerning the future of Carrie Fisher's Star Wars character after the actresses' death late last year.

In a statement posted yesterday to StarWars.com, Lucasfilm let everybody know that out of respect for Fisher's legendary work and the meaning she holds in the hearts of fans, her character will not be digitally re-created — at least, for now — in a future Star Wars franchise.

Here's the statement (below):

However, some fans want to memorialize Leia into true cinematic royalty… by asking Disney to crown Carrie's character as an official Disney Princess!

Is Disney Banning Slave Leia Bikini Merchandise?

no title

We bet Daisy Ridley is pretty happy about this news.

Star Wars may be one of the most iconic franchises in the history of film, but that doesn't mean 100 percent of its mythology is set to stand the test of time.

While Carrie Fisher may be a household name thanks to her portrayal of Princess Leia, not everyone loves her slave costume.

The 59-year-old actress spoken out about the bikini in the past, but she's not the only one over it! Some employees over at Disney think the sexist imagery is on its way out!

Is it just us, or are those Leia buns totally working with Jimmy Kimmel's beard!?

To celebrate the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the late night talk show host and his band showed off their Halloween costumes — in which they dressed as characters from the iconic films!

Kimmel himself was a blaster-wielding Princess Leia, his announcer was a frozen-in-carbonite Han Solo, and his drummer was Darth Vader!

Ironically, the only person on stage not in a Star Wars costume was special guest Harrison Ford, who apparently didn't get the memo and dressed in a "dog in a hot dog costume."

In the sit down, the 73-year-old opens up about his plane crash, discusses getting injured on set, and even dishes a little but about the upcoming film!
