Hunger Games: Catching Fire: Get Your First Look At The Tribute Parade And Quarter Quell Cornucopia…Via Google Maps!

google-maps-images-hunger-games-catching-fire-tribute-parade-cornucopia

Well, it's about time this technology was put to good use!

As we've all seen by now, the satellite imagery employed by Google Maps to show its users aerial shots or "street views" of the destination they're investigating can every now and then result in unexpected nudity and other "WTF is that person doing?" moments that set the internet ablaze!

However, we're very happy to report that for once, we actually WANT to take a closer look at what the application has turned up for us:

The Atlanta set of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire!

That's right, anyone looking for directions to either Clayton County International Park and Atlanta Motor Speedway will be thrilled to know that by using Google Maps, they can garner their first look at two very important set pieces of the much-anticipated follow-up to the Jennifer Lawrence-starring flick, including the Tribute Parade featured in the beginning chapters of the Suzanne Collins novel and later, the Cornucopia that sets into the motion the action of the Quarter Quell!

Ch-ch-check 'em out (above and below)!

Wowza! Even looking at this stuff from the distance that we are, we can tell that this sequel is going to take on a WILDLY different aesthetic than the first!

And that could be a good thing!

Remember how much more badass Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was compared to Chris Columbus' take on the first two flicks?!

But frankly, at this point we're MOST excited to see how the magic of the movies will morph the location of the Quarter Quell's Cornucopia from a water park in Georgia to where the rest of the cast and crew shot the scene…on the beaches of Hawaii!

How about U?? To what are U most looking forward in Hunger Games: Catching Fire??

LOLz!

We were INFINITELY thrilled to get our first glimpse of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Sam Claflin as they shot scenes as Katniss, Peeta, and Finnick for the much-anticipated follow-up to The Hunger Games, Catching Fire on the Maui, Hawaii set yesterday…especially because from the looks of it, they're in the midst of

The Hunger Games Tops Harry Potter In Overall Sales On Amazon

Sorry J.K. Rowling! You've been beaten fair and square by Suzanne Collins on Amazon.com.

The Hunger Games trilogy (in both physical and digital copies) has surpassed all seven Harry Potter books in overall sales on the retail website.

After noting that Collins' accomplished what Rowling did with just three books, Amazon’s Editorial Director of Books and Kindle commented on the feat by saying:

Catching Fire directors

As you all probably know, Lionsgate is on the hunt for a new director to helm the sequel to The Hunger Games.

Critically acclaimed filmmakers David Cronenberg, Alfonso Cuaron, and Alejandro González Iñárritu were named as potential candidates to direct Catching Fire, but now the studio has named two more possibilities.

Is The Hunger Games TOO Violent And Sexually Explicit For Schools???

Josh Hutcherson, Jennifer Lawrence

Don't hate The Games!

American Library Association's Office for Intellectual Freedom has announced that The Hunger Games trilogy is among the most controversial books for schools.

This means of all the books in America this year, Suzanne Collins' three young adult novels have received the most formal, written complaints filed with a library or school requesting it be restricted or removed.

Most of the objectors say the books are "sexually explicit" and "unsuited to age group and violence."

Collins response to these complaints:

"That's not unreasonable. They are violent. It's a war trilogy."

Well, she's got a point!

Duh! Of course the book has violence, HOWEVER one of the series' most obvious themes is anti-violence.

What do U think? Should The Hunger Games should be allowed in schools?

David Cronenberg

That would be awesome!

Since Gary Ross has officially abandoned the sequel to The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Lionsgate is scrambling to find another director. So far the studio has a list of "seven or eight names" that they and author Suzanne Collins would be interested in working with.

One of those names is David Cronenberg, the guy behind
