Jeff Daniels Goes Off On Hillary Clinton & Donald Trump — As His The Newsroom Character!

Is this becoming a thing now?

As you may have seen, Allison Janney stopped by the White House two weeks ago to brief the press as her character from The West Wing.

Well, it seems as though people really appreciated her pop culture spin on real world politics, because Jeff Daniels just did the very same thing!

The Emmy-winning actor stopped by Bloomberg Politics' With All Due Respect on Wednesday to answer some questions about the 2016 election for hosts Mark Halperin and John Heilemann.

However, things took a very Aaron Sorkin-esque twist when Jeff started ripping into Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton as his character from The Newsroom!

We knew Will McAvoy was a moderate Republican… but this is just intense!

Forget Broadway! The best live theatre can be found on TV!

On Wednesday, NBC announced it will produce a live version of Aaron Sorkin's critically acclaimed play A Few Good Men! This is the network's first live drama.

The West Wing creator will collaborate with Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who produced The Sound of Music Live, Peter Pan Live, and The Wiz Live.

According to NBC Chairmen Robert Greenblatt:

"I am thrilled that Aaron Sorkin is coming back to NBC to adapt and produce a live broadcast of his electrifying play 'A Few Good Men,' which seems as timely as ever today… Aaron is one of the most acclaimed theater, television and film authors of our time, and I am pleased that the live event business that we pioneered with musicals is now expanding into other genres and attracting artists of his caliber. I look forward to his collaboration with our 'A-team' producers, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, to bring another exciting piece of live drama to a broad audience."

Set in 1986, the play centers on military lawyer Lt. Daniel Kaffee who must defend three Marines on trial for murder.

You can watch this masterpiece in early 2017.

Cate Blanchett Serves Up Sexy Skin For GQ While Dishing On Not 'Trolling' The Sony Hack — 'I Was Doing Other Stuff'

Filed under: Fashion SmashionCate BlanchettSpread 'EmGQSonyGirl Power

Cate stuns for GQ's anniversary issue!

Cate Blanchett is NOT afraid to speak her mind.

Reminding us just how brazen she is, the 46-year-old really opened up for her own spread in the special 20th anniversary issue of GQ!

And we don't just mean for her gorgeous black-and-white shots.

Video: Cate HIGHlariously Flips Lips With Jimmy Fallon!

The Oscar winner spoke about gender inequality, sharing her frustrations:

"It just feels like the industry has the same conversation every year and I think that's a fabulous conversation. We'll be back here like Groundhog Day next year having the same f*cking symposium. It just has to shift."

Which of course then led to the topic of the Sony hacks, which revealed much more than just the gender pay gap.

In fact, it was reported there was an email written by Aaron Sorkin about Cate herself, which ended up leaking. It read:

"Year in and year out, the guy who wins the Oscar for Best Actor has a much higher bar to clear than the woman who wins Best Actress. Cate gave a terrific performance in Blue Jasmine but nothing close to the degree of difficulty for any of the five Best Actor nominees."

To which Cate responded to hearing it for the first time:

"He's not the first. He's not the first."

And she continued:

"I don't read that shit. No, I'm interested in talking about what the Sony hack means, but in terms of trolling through it to find out about who said what about who… I didn't assume that it could have had anything to do with me, but I guess I've worked for them or have had intersections with them so… Yeah, and the other thing is I'm not in this business expecting or wanting everyone to like what I do. Believe me, I'm the harshest critic of what I do myself, so no one can say anything worse out there than I say to myself. And I've worked with a lot of people that I wouldn't necessarily want to go out to dinner with."

As for what else the Sony hack might have revealed, Cate only had this to say:

"I knew that it was hacked, but I didn't go and troll over the broken bones and identify the dead bodies. I didn't do that. I was doing other stuff."

Dayum. Those are some fierce words, especially considering Jennifer Lawrence did pen a whole essay as a result of it.

But really, it just sounds like the actress is ready to move on, and without needing to know who said what.

We had a feeling that Universal's Jem and the Holograms big screen reboot was going to flop — but we didn't think it would be THIS bad!

The feature length adaptation of the popular ‘80s cartoon, which opened on October 23, has performed so poorly at the box office that Universal is reportedly pulling it from theaters after only two weeks — something unheard of for a movie that was released nationwide!

But even Aaron Sorkin's critically acclaimed biopic Steve Jobs isn't safe from a dismal box office performance!

After ticket sales declined over 69 percent from the film's previous weekend to around $823,000, the Michael Fassbender-led movie was pulled from 2,072 screens!

Movie studios can't win 'em all! Both these flicks flopped bad, but…

Steve Jobs — the bio-pic about the late Apple founder — opens Friday and is already receiving some pretty favorable early reviews.
