Why would anyone do something so HORRIBLE!?!

An abandoned dog was recently thrown in a dumpster at Mount Miguel High School in San Diego wrapped in a blanket inside of a tightly shut bag, and even though he was found… it was just too late.

When the 10-year-old male cocker spaniel was rescued, his fur was rumpled and his health was very feeble.

He was then taken to the San Diego Department of Animal Services, where he was put down because there was no way his condition was gonna get better.

The department is currently searching for the cruel criminals who are responsible for this disgusting act.

While we'll never understand the urge to own a chimp, we always hate it when they are abandoned.

Michael Jackson's pet chimp, Bubbles, has been left high and dry by the Jackson family. The primate was left out of MJ's will and Bubbles is currently "in retirement" in Florida.

Prince, Paris and Blanket used to play with Bubbles all the time, but they have visited nor contributed any cash to Bubbles' $20,000 keep.

Sad…stuck in retirement with no one to talk to…

Oh boy, we may need a tissue after this one.

This little (well, not little but small for a walrus) baby walrus was found abandoned, only four to six weeks old.

Walrus' are very touchy-feely, social creatures, so he needed the love and care of rescuers from the Alaska SeaLife Center.

They played with him, fed him milk from a huge bottle and even laid back against a wall as he waddled over to cuddle up to them.

Too CUTE!

So sad to think that so many living things have endured such mistreatment and neglect all at the expense of a fad!

Due to the success of the Harry Potter book series and subsequent film adaptations, many sought out their own pet owls just like the young wizard had, but now that the final movie has been released, hundreds of the birds - which can live up to 20 years - have been abandoned all over England!

Miley Cyrus adopted an adorable little pup that she named Happy after he and his litter were discovered abandoned outside an El Lay Wal-Mart, and now, Rumer Willis appears to have come to the rescue of one of his siblings!

And the celebs are already planning playdates for the pair!

This is a pet owner's nightmare.

You drop off your dog or cat at the kennel, only to find out the owners later skipped town and the police didn't arrive at the kennel until over a week later!!

Some of the animals had died, while some dogs resorted to eating other dogs to stay alive.

This is absolutely horrible and totally could have been avoided.

What we're wondering is… why do these kinds of people get into the pet care business in the first place?!?!
