Every year at the Oscars, the In Memoriam segment honors actors, actresses, producers, and other esteemed members of the Hollywood community who have passed away in the last year.
Unfortunately, there seems to be some sort of problem year after year as the Academy somehow leaves someone out for one reason or another — just look at Joan Rivers' infamous omission last year.

Well 2016's show was no different as Juliette Lewis' father Geoffrey Lewis was somehow left out of the In Memoriam reel — as was legendary actor Abe Vigoda.
Geoffrey appear in several Clint Eastwood films as well as several flicks; Vigoda is most widely recognized for his role in The Godfather and The Godfather: Part II.
Well Juliette noticed her father's snub and took to Twitter to call out the Academy by saying:

While the Oscars were filled with hilarious jokes and goofy skits, the ceremony got serious when it came time to remember the stars we lost over the past year.
During the In Memoriam segment, the Academy celebrated the lives of filmmakers, actors, and other notable names in Hollywood who passed away since the 2015 awards show.
The montage remembered stars like David Bowie, Alan Rickman, and Leonard Nimoy, while Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl sang a beautiful rendition of Paul McCartney's Blackbird.
Unfortunately, it appears as though The Godfather alum Abe Vigoda and Rocky actor Tony Burton were both left out of the segment.
Take a look (above).

We're sad to report that Abe Vigoda has passed away at 94-years-old.
On Tuesday, it was revealed that The Godfather actor passed from old age while at his daughter Carol Vigoda Fuchs' residence in Woodland Park, New Jersey. Despite the legendary star's death being falsely reported several times in the past, his daughter has since confirmed.

Although, she added:
"This man was never sick."
So sad. Abe famously played Sal Tessio in Francis Ford Coppola's iconic films and even voiced his popular character in the video games until 2007. The New York native was also known for his role as Detective Phil Fish in the '70s show Barney Miller.
How impressive! Though we're sad we've lost one of the greats, we're happy he was able to live such a full life.
