Texas may not be the most progressive place when it comes to every social issue, but the Supreme Court is doing everything it can to usher the Lone Star State into this century.
That's because a 5-3 vote on Monday just blocked an anti-abortion law from passing, meaning most of the women's clinics in Texas will no longer have to close!
Essentially, the law radically changed the standards for clinics, meaning any abortion clinics that weren't in hospitals would be forced to shut their doors.
Justice Stephen Breyer spoke for the majority in a statement regarding the landmark case, saying:
