Looks like some members of the Academy got their panties in a twist this past weekend when trying to view The Hunger Games!

It seems that the VIPs were a bit pissed off at the fact that Lionsgate offered no Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences members-only screenings for the film!!

Boo hoo! They had to watch the movie in theaters with the rest of us! AND pay!

Super 8 star Elle Fanning made an appearance at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Tuesday night to celebrate the release of the film's DVD.

Before heading inside for the screening, the 13 year old posed on the red carpet in a cute Miu Miu pink and white sweater, black pants and sparkly Mary Janes.

This is such a great look for Elle! It's youthful, but still appropriate for this kind of event.

Such an unbelievable, and deserved, achievement!

This Saturday, Oprah Winfrey will be the proud recipient of the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Third Annual Governors Awards, not only for her well-received, yet limited appearances in film, but also for all of her philanthropic work, notably her Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa!

Yesterday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Board of Governors announced that they will honor Oprah Winfrey with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for "her extensive charitable, philanthropic, and educational efforts."

This year, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Board of Governors will honor Oprah Winfrey, James Earl Jones and makeup artist Dick Smith as well.

Oprah will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, which hasn't been awarded in three years, for "her extensive charitable, philanthropic, and educational efforts."
