First off, before we get into what Han Solo has to say about modern action films, can we just say that he looks pretty great for his age?
The guy is 67! Wow!
Anyway, back to the topic at hand: action in modern times.
The veteran actor, on his promotion tour for the very cool looking Cowboys & Aliens, has spoken up about the use of CGI in action movies these days:
"I think what a lot of action movies lose these days, especially the ones that deal with fantasy, is you stop caring at some point because you've lost human scale. With the CGI, suddenly there's a thousand enemies instead of six - the army goes off into the horizon. You don't need that."
"That's something that's consistently happening, and it makes these movies like video games and that's a soulless enterprise. I don't have time for that."
While we're not sure that we agree that video games on a whole are a soulless enterprise, we really understand where he's coming from when it comes to film and a character's personal struggle.
It's awesome that someone as important as he is is speaking up about this trend. Sadly, we don't think many execs will listen, seeing as the CGI bullshizz train makes them waaaay too much money to get off.
Though, it'd be nice to see some young up-and-comers be inspired by what he's said, and maybe we can start a bit of a revolution!
How do U feel about action movies these days??

Miley Cyrus is getting some action!
Sources are reporting that Miles has signed on for a new flick called So Undercover. The former Disney sweetheart is going rebel to take the role of a "tough, street-smart private eye hired by the FBI to go undercover in a college sorority."
A sorority? How fun! Which one is it? Alpha Eta Pi, perhaps? Ha!
OMG guys, this is going to be so rad for her! It's gonna be like Agent Cody Banks meets Miss Congeniality meets Never Been Kissed meets Undercover Brothers meetsHannah Montana! (Did we miss any?)

Check out the video (above) to see Chuck Norris star in an ad for Czech phones.
Why would Chuck Norris resort to acting in Czech phone commercials as opposed to American action movies, you might ask?
Chuck Norris doesn't NEED to act in Czech phone commercials. He chooses to because he's fluent in every language that's ever been in existence, and doing these phone commercials gives him the opportunity to take a break from boring English and speak in a different language with the actors on set.
Also, Chuck Norris refrains from performing in American action movies because he's automatically offered the lead role for every action movie ever, and by working out of the country, it gives other actors like Jason Statham the opportunity to get leading roles in action movies….and Chuck Norris likes Jason Statham action movies. He thinks they're "cute."
Does Chuck Norris make U want to buy Czech phones? Or perhaps move to the Czech Republic?
It's so crazy to see all of these old school action icons together!
Last night, the new action flick The Expendables premiered in Hollywood, and its HUGE cast of veteran stars were on hand to walk the red carpet - including the flick's director/star Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, and our very own guv'nah Arnold Schwarzenegger - who appears in the movie in a cameo role!
The flick involves a team of mercenaries attempting to overthrow a dictator in South America, and also features Dolph Lundgren, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, and Stone Cold Steve Austin! Oh, and Cordelia from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, too!
Sounds like it's going to be a whole lot of testosterone and explosions! But to see all of these guys together in one movie - probably worth it!
What do U think?? Do U want to see The Expendables?!
