Angelina Jolie stepped out last night in a strapless black and white gown with long, black gloves — giving off that incredible 'old Hollywood' look — to take part in the United Nations Correspondents Association Awards Dinner in New York City.

The actress and activist was joined there by her sons Pax, 14, and Knox, 9, as well as 12-year-old daughter Zahara and 11-year-old daughter Shiloh.

She was being honored at the event as the 2017 UNCA Global Citizen of the Year, and as part of her award, she took the time to speak out about humanitarian work, refugees, and the plight of women and children in countries all over the globe.

And stars of all stripes are coming out of the woodwork to advocate for various causes, like Rosario Dawson did last week when she was arrested as part of a Democracy Spring protest!

This time around, it's Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield — you know them better as the gentlemen behind Ben & Jerry's — who were arrested for their activism as part of a similar non-violent protest for an organization called Democracy Awakening!

The ice cream duo were two of approximately 300 people arrested on Monday for protesting the role of money in politics at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC — and now, they are opening up about it!

On the official Ben & Jerry's website, Cohen explained their motivation behind being arrested over the protest:

Protesting is an American right and staple — and Kesha's loyal fans are using it to their full advantage.

The #FreeKesha movement has been in full swing on Twitter, but now the singer's fans are taking it right to the Sony building in New York City, with a Friday morning protest on the street that includes signs of support and much more.

The fans traveled to Sony to demand they release Kesha from her contract with the label amid sexual assault allegations towards her producer, Dr. Luke, and after the Tik Tok singer's injunction bid last week was denied.

University Of Missouri's President Resigns After Football Team Strikes Over Disgusting Racial Incidents

This is a very strong message.

The University of Missouri's football team suspended all team activities — right in the middle of their season — and more than 30 players walked out on the team in an effort to boycott President Tim Wolfe.

Wolfe, and the University administration more broadly, have come under fire for slow reactions to several alleged acts of racism on campus, with concerned students feeling as though the president has little concern for the black students on campus.

Things came to a head last week, when graduate student Jonathan Butler started a hunger strike — that has now gone on for nearly seven full days — that Butler says will not stop until either he dies, or Wolfe is removed from his position.

Finally, after a week of tension on campus, news broke Monday morning that Wolfe finally resigned from his position as the president of the entire University of Missouri system!

On Wednesday, 29-year-old Brittany published what sounds like will be her last post on the Brittany Maynard Fund website. Though she doesn't explicitly express that this will be her last writing before November 1st, the emotional tone of the piece suggests this may be the final time we hear from this courageous woman.
