Wonder if she had the same sentiments when Demi Moore was playing her!

We have a feeling that Christian will NOT agree with this!
Last week while Christian Bale was in China for the premiere of his new movie The Flowers of War, he traveled eight hours from Beijing to meet Chinese human rights activist/lawyer Chen Guangcheng, but he was aggressively turned away by police (above).
Now, Chinese government spokesman Liu Weimin has spoken up about the incident, and he believes that Christian should feel embarrassed
We're just glad he wasn't badly hurt.
While in China for the premiere of his new movie The Flowers of War, Christian Bale traveled eight hours away from Beijing to meet Chinese human rights activist/lawyer Chen Guangcheng…and it did NOT go as planned.
Guangcheng is currently under house arrest, and he was imprisoned for over four years back in 2006 for "disrupting traffic and damaging property" while campaigning against "forced abortions and the treatment of villagers in China."
When Bale and his CNN camera crew approached Guangcheng's village, a guard told them to go away, and when they didn't immediately comply, Bale was "shoved violently by the dozen guards in olive green military coats." Scary!
Betty White is a huge animal lover and zoo enthusiast.
She has a new book coming out called Betty & Friends: My Life at the Zoo.
In it, she says she loves good zoos but that protesting and marching aren't enough to turn a bad zoo into one.
"I was really kind of appalled that a city like Los Angeles had such a poor zoo… I’ve never been a big demonstrator from the outside criticizing. I’d much rather get inside and help. So I started to work with the zoo and got hooked, and they haven’t been able to get rid of me since."
While many groups, including PETA, feel that zoos are cruel, offering only the basic needs for animals, Betty feels differently.
"Many people get very irate, say, ‘Animals should be in their natural habitat, they shouldn’t be in captivity.’ Well, in the meantime, we’ve taken much of that natural habitat away. It doesn’t exist anymore."
If you'd like to hear more of Betty's words of wisdom, you can check it out at any major book store.

Listen to Cher, she always knows what's in.
The Clueless actress and super star activist Alicia Silverstone is battling for animal rights once again! Her current target — the cosmetic industry.
Alicia has written a letter to the European Commission asking them to "Uphold the European Union's 2013 ban on cosmetics tested on animals."
According to Alicia:
"This ban was put in place to advance and modernize cosmetic testing and keeping it in place is crucial. We need modern cosmetics and chemical test methods that can assess how products will affect the human body. Testing these products on animals is inherently cruel–and it's not a good predictor of how it will affect humans."
She says pushing the deadline further would only delay plans to develop nonanimal tests that can better predict how cosmetics affect humans.
We agree, AND are totes proud of Alicia for all her hard work and passion!

He stared in the Oscar-winning movie about dolphin-killing in Japan with Hayden Panettiere, but Ric O'Barry's fight against dolphin hunting isn't over.
Recently Cove star traveled to the tiny island Miyakejima - a place were dolphins are are only used for tourism (and never killed for soup)! The actor gushed over the dolphin paradise, saying:
"It's very encouraging to see people celebrating dolphins, respecting dolphins, and I'm all for that. We support them all the way."
You can support the dolphin loving people of Miyakejima by visiting the island of 2,700 people south of Tokyo. O'Barry hopes that a rise in tourism will encourage eastern islands to adopt the same dolphin-friendly policy.
Right now the famous dolphin activist is headed back to the same town in Taiji that his notorious documentary The Cove was shot, to protest the annual dolphin hunt that's set to starts Sept. 1.
