PETA Letter's To Comedy A-listers

PETA Letter's To Comedy A-listers

Someone's in trouble…

H-wood funnymen Kevin James, Adam Sandler, Steve Carell, and Jim Carrey were sent some strong worded letters from PETA today.

The letters, which PETA released to the Track, read:

“We’re absolutely sure that until this moment, you could not have been aware of the abuse and suffering that captive wild animals used in the entertainment industry endure behind the scenes, and we feel that it is important to provide you with this information.”

James and Sandler were specifically targeted in the protest, due to the recent release of their flick The Zookeeper.

Back in 2009, the death of Tweet, a giraffe who collapsed and died on the Franklin Park set of the film, sparked a federal investigation. Tweet’s scenes in Zookeeper were filmed at the local zoo, though he wasn’t a resident. He was transported from California’s Animals in Motion for the shoot.

Activists made their presence known outside the Zookeeper premiere last week in El Lay.

PETA staged an elaborate protest, featuring signs that read “Cruelty Has No Place In Show Business.”

Animal Rights Group Says Sheryl Crow's Commitment to Horses is Bull

Sheryl Crow's Commitment to Horses is Bull

Them's fight'n words!

Proclaimed animal lover Sheryl Crow was attacked by a shark — or, more accurately, an animal rights group called SHARK (Showing Animals Respect and Kindness) — after performing at a rodeo with Kid Rock.

The activists say Sheryl was a hypocrite for donating part of her earnings from her concert performance to wild horses — Ya know… cause it's a rodeo.

Supporters of Crow care about the her rodeo performance as much as a honey bagger (very little).

They say her adoption of a wild horse and the time and money she spends to help keep wild horse on public lands proves her commitment to the equines is real.

They point out the horses used in the rodeo are not the same ones the government snatches from the range.

Gordon Ramsay Snake Heart Controversy!

Chef Gordon Ramsay ate A Snake Heart

Ewwww!

Celebrity Professor Snape chef Gordon Ramsay is in trouble with animal rights campaigners (and possibly his stomach) after he ate a snake heart on his TV show.

Ramsay was filmed downing the heart of a cobra in a snake restaurant in Vietnam as part of his series Gordon's Great Escape, which airs in the U.K. on Monday. Ramsay is warned he will feel the organ beating in his stomach for several minutes - YUCKSVILLE!

The episode has not gone down well with animal rights activists at U.K. charity Animal Aid, who have branded Ramsay's stunt "cruel, attention-seeking (and) sick."

Animal Aid director had this to say:

"It's an awful and vicious thing to do to an animal and Gordon Ramsay is complicit in it. He's made sick entertainment out of this animal's suffering to make himself look interesting but I think he's just an inadequate creature."

Do you think eating a snake heart is wrong or just weird?

South Korea Bans Fur From Fendi's Fashion Show

Fendi AND Lindsey

Animal rights protesters won South Korea! (Sorry Lindsay)

The country's capital city has told Italian fashion house Fendi to remove all fur items from a show of its Fall/Winter collection due to complaints from animal rights groups, officials said Monday.

A spokesman for the city government said:

"We have received complaints from animal rights activists and saw negative public opinion on the Internet… we can't let such a controversial thing be staged at a public property."

The Italian firm said city officials last week threatened to cancel the event unless all fur items were removed from the catwalk.

Fendi's statement said the design house had difficulty understanding the decision and had spent months preparing. It added it would continue negotiations.
