Back in March, we first heard about the possibility of a sequel to Oscar-winning film The Fighter, and we didn't think it was a good idea.

As we said back then, we think that The Fighter was a wonderful film, with fantastic performances, and we don't want them to ruin the integrity of the original by sequelizing it.

That was the big question this morning during Hot Topics on The Talk!

Okay, mostly she's concerned that she's always is on "vacation" whenever the show does a Talk sketch because they have no one to play her, but the point remains valid.

Over the years, there's been plenty of talk that black nominees being left out of the Oscars is a trend.

Whoopi Goldberg does NOT agree with this, despite the fact that there are no black nominees in major categories for this year's Oscars.

Here's what Whoopi had to say about it:

"I don't know how it gets better. I think we're all right."

"This idea that there's something wrong, something missing, seemed very inaccurate to me, and it was, and there are a lot of people in that small little world of black Oscar folks. And, yeah. If you're going to talk about it, then talk about it. Don't sort of talk around it. That was my point."

As always, Whoopi is not afraid to speak her mind. We're thinking lots of people will agree with her, but we also have a feeling there are LOTS of folks who will NOT agree. Definitely can be touchy subject matter.

Maybe they can bring back Batman & Robin's Alicia Silverstone! LOLs.

As The Dark Knight Rises approacheth, Christopher Nolan is seeking actresses for both a villain AND love interest role.

According to sources, some top contenders for these roles include Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway, and Jessica Biel, who will perform screen tests within the next two weeks.

Other contenders include 127 Hours' Kate Mara, Easy Virtue's Charlotte Riley, and Alice Creed Gemma Arterton.

Some inneresting choices…could be cool to see what Anne could do with a villain role!

We've certainly seen her dark side before in Rachel Getting Married, so we know she's capable of it.

Now we're talking!

While we love Scarlett Johansson, Carey Mulligan is the perfect choice to play the boyish 1920s flapper in Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby.

The film, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, has had a string of young actresses attached, with Scarlett being the most recent name attached. However, with her commitment to Cameron Crowe's We Bought a Zoo, sources say Scarlett won't be available by the time filming begins next summer.

So now, Carey Mulligan has stepped in to be the front-runner and we couldn't have pictured a more perfect Daisy ourselves!

Julia Roberts nabbed Elle, Jennifer Aniston got Harper's Bazaar and even though we haven't seen it yet Halle Berry landed Vogue.

All three women had their face plastered across the September issues, but they also have something else in common: they're all over 40.

So why are Hollywood's leading ladies getting the highly coveted cover and not up and coming starlets?

Lesley Jane Seymour, former editor of Marie Claire explains:

"They're the ones with real style, real staying power, real beauty. As the American population continues to grow older, everyone can relate better to a woman with a little wear on her tires.

Who is there with any kind of real style or longevity in their 30s or 20s right now? Britney Spears? Kim Kardashian? These are flashes in the pan. Many are shallow reality stars like Snooki. Style icon? Um, talk to me in a year. Frankly, it's here today, gone tomorrow. Lindsay Lohan? What's to look up to?"

Ouch!

But she does make a good point.
