Dirty Dancing Is Getting A Remake — Starring Chanel No. 5 Abigail Breslin!

no title

Nobody puts Chanel No. 5 in the corner!

Fresh off of the success of NBC's The Wiz Live! and with Grease Live! airing in January on FOX — it looks like ABC wants in on the Primetime musical craze.

That's because it was announced on Tuesday that Abigail Breslin has been cast as Jennifer Grey's lead character in a 2016 remake of Dirty Dancing!

While Disney's adaptation won't be live like Peter Pan Live!, The Sound of Music Live!, and the others, it will still be interesting to see who the House of Mouse casts in Patrick Swayze's part alongside the Oscar-nominated actress…

We have to say, we're surprised by this casting. Abigail seems like an odd choice to star in her very own musical, especially after her — let's say questionable — performance in Scream Queens!

Luckily, Adam Anders and Peer Åström from Glee will be writing the music, so at least that aspect of the 3-hour show will be tight.

Make sure to catch Abigail Breslin & Co. when Dirty Dancing not-Live airs in 2016 on ABC!

Christina Milian To Star In A GLEEful New Show!

Christina Millian Maid in Miami ABC Family Glee Producer Rita Rocks

Christina Milian is coming back!

…in the form of cable television! Wheeee!!!

ABC Family is developing a new show called Maid in Miami right now with Glee's music producer and the Rita Rocks producing duo.

Hmm, with Adam Anders, Stan Zimmerman, and James Berg, it looks like this show could have some talented potential. Key word being potential.

The show would center in on Christina's character as she dreams of becoming a singer while she dusts for a living.

Somehow this all sounds so familiar, but we can't put our finger on it…. can U?

Welp! We love Glee… A LOT. a lot, a lot. So we know anything with their music producer attached to it has our support.

But it better have a good pilot!!!

Glee Music Producer To Launch His Own Record Label

This seems like the next logical step.

Glee's executive music producer, Adam Anders, has been successful at co-producing more than 100 Billboard Hot 100 hits for the Fox show.

And now he's looking to capitalize on his success by building his own record label.

Anders is currently working on albums by Zac Poor and Ben Burgess. His first release will be the self-titled album of singer/dancer/actor Shane Harper from Disney Channel's Good Luck Charlie.

When talking about the direction his record label will take, Anders says:

"I don't believe in putting out a single and then if it doesn't hit, drop the artist. We are here to develop artists — there is no timetable to getting it right."

Agreed! This is what the music industry needs right now. One-hit wonders are fun, but artists need to be nurtured.

Good luck with your label, Adam!

Original Glee Songs Take Over iTunes!

We guess it doesn't matter if it's original music or covers - Glee is an un$toppable cash cow!

Tuesday's episode of the smash series premiered their first foray into all-original music, and two of these tracks, the Max Martin-written Loser Like Me and Adam Anders track Get It Right, have hit the top two slots on the iTunes chart, racking up nearly 200,00 downloads since release!

Holy shiz! That's in only TWO DAYS!

As happy as we are for their success, however, we hope that this won't become too much of a habit for them!

We like the show best when the know the songs to sing along to!

What do U think?? More original music for Glee or back to covers??

New Details On Glee's First Original Songs

Filed under: Music MinuteGleeLea MicheleCory Monteith

You know, we given a lot of praise to Ryan Murphy for all the work he does on Glee, but today, we want to send a shout out to the series’ music supervisor, Adam Anders. The show's hit some serious high notes in the last few years and some of that credit definitely goes to him.

Oh, but don't worry. Adam's poised to get a lot of Gleeky attention in the coming weeks, as he is the man behind the show's upcoming original songs. Adam has opened up to sources about the show's first foray into original musical and he has a lot of good things to say.

For one, he acknowledges that for the show's first original group number, Loser Like Me, he had a little help from one of the best in the business - Max Martin. To date, the show has already covered 30 of the talented producer's songs and when it came time to find someone to co-produce the New Directions "Gleek anthem", Max was the obvious choice. Adam explains:

“The thing about Max is that he’s a huge fan of pop culture and he just loved the idea of being part of something that’s such a cultural phenomenon. So it was actually not hard to convince him at all. He was all about it.”

The "very uptempo, kind-of-summery hit” will feature Lea Michele and Cory Monteith on lead for most of the verses, but for the show's second original number, Lea will go at it alone. Get It Right was actually crafted especially for Glee's "child star" by Adam, his writing partner and Adam's wife. When asked how the song came to his team, Adam explains:

“Lea’s storyline kind of inspired that song for me. Basically, you try to do everything right and you have good motivations with everything you’re doing but everything ends up going wrong. How many times will it take for me to get it right?”

The answer to that question, in terms of the success of these songs, is still TBD, but we've got high hopes. High in the sky hopes.

In other words - Don't let us down!!!
