Children Grow Out Autism

Autism seems to be a more and more common diagnosis- about 1 in 88 children is now affected!

Whether it's the problem that's increasing or just our awareness of it is unclear, but we do have some hope on the horizon. It may not always be a lifelong disorder!

According to a University of Connecticut study, some children actually grow out of it! Professor of psychology Deborah Fein says:

Teach Your Kids How To…Pole Dance?!?!

Filed under: TeensHealthIcky Icky Diaper PooEducational

Wow, we've heard of teaching your kids how to drive, teaching your kids how to ride a bicycle, but teaching your kids how to pole dance???

That is most definitely a new one.

But one teacher of the fine art of pole dancing thinks that it is a great way to burn carbs, and get your sweat going on.

And while we agree that it is most certainly a great cardio workout - we think there are definitely some sexual connotations associated with such a discipline.

Ch-ch-check the video out (above) and decide what you think for yourself!!!!

Child Stars Of Modern Family Want A Raise Too!

Filed under: TV NewsBusiness BlitzSofia Vergara

The adult cast of Modern Family got the pay raise they wanted after salary negotiations with 20th Century Fox Television ended last Friday, but now the youngsters want their fair share as well!

13-year-old's Rico Rodriguez and Nolan Gould will be demanding a raise alongside their 14-year-old co-star, Ariel Winter.

They won't get the big bucks that Sofia Vergara, Ty Burrell and company negotiated ($175,000 per episode), but they should be getting a significant raise since they share equal screen time.

21-year-old Sarah Hyland is already making more than her younger co-stars and will also be getting a raise while 5-year-old Aubrey Anderson-Emmons will continue to earn the least of the group.

Whatever deal these kids end up getting, we hope it's good. The show wouldn't be what it is without them, so they totally deserve the money!

A New Facebook For 13 & Under Only???

babyusesfacebook.jpg

Facebook is under intense scrutiny these days for all of the under 13 kids who frequent the website.

Although the site does not allow children under 13 to join - many users lie about their age in order to gain access to the social network.

Now, the website is developing a feature that will connect parents to their child's account in order to monitor who their friends are and what applications they use.

Here's what Facebook said:

"Recent reports have highlighted just how difficult it is to enforce age restrictions on the Internet, especially when parents want their children to access online content and services. We are in continuous dialogue with stakeholders, regulators and other policy makers about how best to help parents keep their kids safe in an evolving online environment."

Such a move could potentially tap revenue for a whole new group of users, but might also infuriate privacy activists who are already unhappy with Facebook's privacy rules.

Facebook has 900 million users around the world, 7.5 million of whom are under 13, and more than five million are under the age of 10.

There have been a stupid amount of cyber bullying on Facebook and many of these cases have ended in tragedy.

We appreciate the super site's ambition to help deal with cyber bullying, but might it be more useful to have information for parents to talk to their kids about how using the site is inappropriate.

After all–knowledge is power!!!
