Still early on in the process, but it looks like Ryan Seacrest may be teaming up with talent agency CAA and entertainment company AEG to start a new cable channel.
Pretty ambitious, Seacrest! You've come a long way, bb.
The new network would be music/pop culture/lifestyle themed, and while Seacrest may have an on-screen presence on the channel, it's looking like he'll mostly be working behind the scenes on this one.
Programming for the network would include footage from AEG's concerts/live venues, as well as other TBD programs, which Seacrest would help put together through his vast network of industry connections.
To get this channel going, Seacrest is likely to utilize his relationship with Comcast's president/CEO Ted Harbert, in an effort to secure distribution. Given the fact that Comcast has plans to merge with NBC Universal, Harbert is going to be a pretty useful BFF to have on the inside for Seacrest!
Those of you who may be concerned about Ryan's future with the E! Network, fear not! Sources are emphasizing the fact that Seacrest will continue his co-anchor duties on E! News, as well as his work as a producer of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
What do U think about Ryan Seacrest starting his own channel?
