On top of his busy schedule that includes American Idol, hosting a radio show, and producing numerous reality hits for E!, the multi-hyphenate is creating his own television network!

Katherine Challenges AEG's Dismissal Of Wrongful Death Lawsuit

katherine-jackson-files-leg.jpg

Katherine Jackson filed legal documents to challenge AEG's motion to dismiss the wrongful death lawsuit against the company.

She thinks the AEG knew what they were doing when they paid Dr. Conrad Murray an "exorbitant salary of $150,000 monthly," in order to "get Jackson to attend rehearsals and perform."

Katherine added that it should have been obvious something was going down when Dr. Murray requested CPR equipment at Michael's home that "the medical treatments being administered risked stopping Jackson's heart and breathing."

Her lawyer added:

"This is hardly the type of risk expected in an ordinary house visit from a family doctor. "AEG should have known that the course of treatment being administered by Dr. Murray was unorthodox and unsafe."

That may be true, but is it their responsibility?!

Ryan Seacrest To Start His Own Cable Channel!

Filed under: TV NewsRyan SeacrestBusiness Blitz

ryan seacrest teams up with caa and aeg for cable channel

Still early on in the process, but it looks like Ryan Seacrest may be teaming up with talent agency CAA and entertainment company AEG to start a new cable channel.

Pretty ambitious, Seacrest! You've come a long way, bb.

The new network would be music/pop culture/lifestyle themed, and while Seacrest may have an on-screen presence on the channel, it's looking like he'll mostly be working behind the scenes on this one.

Programming for the network would include footage from AEG's concerts/live venues, as well as other TBD programs, which Seacrest would help put together through his vast network of industry connections.

To get this channel going, Seacrest is likely to utilize his relationship with Comcast's president/CEO Ted Harbert, in an effort to secure distribution. Given the fact that Comcast has plans to merge with NBC Universal, Harbert is going to be a pretty useful BFF to have on the inside for Seacrest!

Those of you who may be concerned about Ryan's future with the E! Network, fear not! Sources are emphasizing the fact that Seacrest will continue his co-anchor duties on E! News, as well as his work as a producer of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

What do U think about Ryan Seacrest starting his own channel?

AEG Responds To Jackson Family's Lawsuit.

mj-wenn__opt11__opt11__opt12.jpg

AEG has responded to the lawsuit filed against them today by the Jackson family that blames them for the death of Michael, and it sounds like they're having none of the accusations whatsoever!

Their lawyers claim that Katherine's lawsuit is "inaccurate, unsubstantiated and meritless," and continues:

"Dr. Murray was Mr. Jackson's longtime personal physician. AEG did not choose him, hire him or supervise him. That said, and in honor of our professional relationship with Mr. Jackson and his Estate, we will have no further public statements."

This is all just becoming too much!

We understand that the Jackson family wants answers, as most do when someone as young as Michael passes, but come on!

We hope that they focus on the process of healing and coming to terms with their grief, instead of focusing on all of those ridiculous legal and monetary issues!

So sad.

Jackson Family Suing Mad, Blames AEG For Michael's Death

mj-wenn__opt11__opt11__opt11.jpg

We can't believe this is still going on!

The Jackson family is suing AEG because they believe that the company is responsible for Michael's death.

The lawsuit claims that AEG, president and CEO Tim Leiweke, Anschutz Entertainment and several other entities are responsible for the premature death because Michael's contract with the company for the planned This Is It tour created a legal duty to keep him healthy.

The lawsuit alleges:

"By the nature of their contractual, joint-venture, and special relationship, AEG had legal duties to Michael Jackson to treat him safely and to not put him in harms' way. But AEG, despite its knowledge of Michael Jackson's physical condition, breached those duties by putting its desire for massive profits from the tour over the health and safety of Michael Jackson."

The Jacksons believe that AEG was negligent in insisting that Michael use Dr. Conrad Murray and drop his own doctor.

Brian Panish at Panish Shea Boyle is repping the family. He gave the following statement:

"The purpose of this lawsuit is to prove to the world the truth about what happened to Michael Jackson, once and for all."

They are suing for breach of contract, negligent hiring, training and supervision, fraud and negligent infliction of emotional distress.
