Lauren Scruggs sat down for her first interview on Thursday since she tragically lost her eye and hand in an airplane accident last December.
The fashion blogger-slash-model made an appearance on the Today Show to talk about how she's doing and to plug her new book, Still Lolo: A Spinning Propeller, a Horrific Accident, and a Family's Journey of Hope.
It's so nice to see her looking great and smiling!
Check out the video (above) to see the big surprise Lauren gets during her interview!
Model Lauren Scruggs is in the midst of a legal battle with an insurance company over the amount of settlement money she'll receive following her tragic airplane accident last year.
The plane's insurance company "verbally offered" to pay her $200,000 for her injuries — the most they can pay for a "passenger". However, Scruggs is fighting back saying she wasn't a passenger at the time of the accident since she was neither in the aircraft or making an exit.
"[She] completed her exit from the aircraft prior to the time of the incident and was physically located on the tarmac when the incident happened. Until struck by the propeller, she was not in physical contact with the aircraft after her exit."
The rest of the deets of Lauren's lawsuit are minimal, but we do know she's asking for unspecified damages or at least more than $200K.
We have experienced a little of this along this journey, but we now face it head on. Hard? um excruciating……….
They said it was coming……..and it has. It's healthy, yes. It's necessary, yes. But it's brutal.
At the beginning, many of the doctors told us "this will be a marathon, not a sprint; this will be a long rode to recovery.". I guess they were right.
I feel like such a debbie-downer; not being my upbeat, positive self, And I find it hard to write and put on paper what we are really experiencing, Have two months really gone by? Did Christmas really come and go? Is it really 2012? Hard to believe it's been 2 months since it all happened; sometimes it feels like a day; sometimes it feels like 5 years.
We'd like to think the worst is over for Lauren, but as Cheryl said it will indeed be a long road to recovery.
The GOP offered Justin Bieber $5 million to perform at an event during the Republican National Convention last week, and he nearly took the deal -- until his manager Scooter Braun threatened to quit over it!!
The Biebs, repped by talent agency CAA, would have had to perform for just 45 minutes one night last week at a venue not even at the RNC's main location in Cleveland, and this by far would have been his biggest payday ever.
Apparently, Republican officials and the promoter who pushed the deal told Justin the event was "not political," and the Biebs was going to get the $5 million up front (!) without having to endorse Donald Trump or anything like that, but thankfully, smarter heads prevailed in the Bieber camp
While it would have been the Sorry singer's single biggest payday EVER, manager Braun -- who is a big Hillary Clinton supporter -- was NOT feeling it.
