True Blood's Sixth Season Will Have A REDUCED Number Of Episodes!

true-blood-season-six-reduced-episode-order

We don't know about you, but after the INSANE finale of True Blood a few weeks back, we think waiting for the sixth season to premiere next summer is going to SUCK!

Just like the show's promotional campaign always says! Ha!

But unfortunately, according to creator and former show runner, Alan Ball, there's going to be LESS of what we're waiting for when Sookie and friends return!

That's right, although every year so far has had 12 episodes, the sixth season is only going to have ten!

But while the economy factors into the decision, it's mostly so Anna Paquin can have her twin babies, due in November!

As he explains:

"We're moving production to January to accommodate her. And there will only be 10 shows next season partly because of Anna and partly because of the economics."

Ugh! Well we can't very well be disappointed because of that, can we?!

Gurl needs time to spend with her babies! No fault there!

Although if there IS going to be a reduced number of episodes, they had EACH better be EXCEPTIONAL!

And by that, we mean Viking Vampire Eric better be naked in EVERY single one!

Millions Sucked In By True Blood Finale!

true blood season five finale

Season 5 of True Blood ended in wet, sticky success!

A total of 6.3 Million warm-blooded views got their hearts beating over the vampire drama's season finale Sunday night!

Those are some AH-MAZING numbers for a cable show in it's fifth season! Obvi, Bill, Sookie and Eric have some real staying power.

We admit, we got a little worried when True Blood's creator, Alan Ball, announced he's not coming back to the show next season. Howeves, with steady ratings like this we are confident the citizens of Bon Temps will survive just fine without him!

That is… at least the ones that don't get killed off the show!

True Blood Creator Alan Ball Says 'Thank You' To The Fans

Aww! This was a nice gesture!

True Blood creator Alan Ball realizes that his hit HBO show wouldn't be a hit without the fans, so he wanted to thank them in person (or as close to that as he could get) before the season five finale aired on Sunday night.

He's stepping down as showrunner of the vampire drama, so the video (above) also serves as a farewell to those who have faithfully tuned in since it premiered on premium cable in 2008.

While he's thanking people like us for watching, we have to thank him right back for giving us such a remarkable show to end our weekend with for the last five years! Not to mention, hiring such a seksi cast!

Without Mr. Ball's fine eye for fine-looking talent, our eyes may never have been introduced to ASkars, the finest fanger of them all!

Thank you, Alan! THANK YOU!

HBO Announces Comic-Con Panelists For True Blood And Game Of Thrones

Peter Dinklage Not At Comic Con

Vampires, and dragons, and Skarsgard! Oh, my!

HBO announced its Game of Thrones and True Blood panelists for Comic-Con 2012 and — let us be the first to tell you — your inner-fanboy is in for a more rewarding summer than Katie and Tom's divorce lawyers!

Source novelist George R.R. Martin will moderate the Game of Thrones panel. Attending cast members will include Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey, and Richard Madden.

We're a little surprised no one invited Peter Dinklage!!

Tyrion Lannister is EVERYONE'S favorite character!? How in the name of Unicorn Appreciation Day did they manage to overlook him?

True Blood, in stark contrast, has a pretty stackhoused panel!

EW writer Tim Stack will moderate a discussion including creator Alan Ball and cast members, Joe Manganiello, Stephen Moyer, Anna Paquin and, yes, Alexander Skarsgard.

We're so positive next month's Comic Con will provide us the greatest series of multiple nerdgasms we've ever known, we've decided to bring extra pairs of clean underwear!

true blood new showrunner mark hudis

Everyone should welcome Mark Hudis with bottles of that fake True Blood drank HBO sells.

Because he's gonna need all the energy he can get when he succeeds Alan Ball as showrunner!!!!

With the series creator passing the torch to work on Cinemax's Banshee, Mark has been promoted from co-ep to, well, king… basically.

His two year deal

True Blood Showrunner Alan Ball Stepping Down!!

true blood alan ball showrunner

NOOOO!!!!!

Why, Alan dearest?? WHY!?!

Sigh… Yes, perezcious readers… it is true.

Despite our wishes it was all just a rumor, Alan Ball has confirmed he will leave his showrunner position if (and when) True Blood continues on into season six.

Since he's prepping his newest tv baby — Cinemax's Banshee — he won't have enough time to give the amazing world of Bon Temps his all.

But he says it's because of the excellent cast and crew that he knows he can leave with good faith.
