Fall Out Boy Continue To Save Rock And Roll By Topping The Charts!

Filed under: Music MinutePete WentzFall Out Boy

fall out boy save rock and roll billboard 200 number one

Fall Out Boy may have been kidding on the square when they named their fifth album Save Rock And Roll, but one thing isn't a joke- the sales!

The fall out from the viral campaign and risky release of the entire album on YouTube a week early turned out to be more of a windfall.

The record has premiered at Number One on the Billboard 200 albums chart!

FOB had an amazing week, selling 154,000 copies- not quite as many as the best weeks of Infinity On High or From Under The Cork Tree, but considering the changes to the music industry since then, the numbers are quite impressive!

Save Rock And Roll indeed!

Ch-ch-check out the video to find out exactly how the boys came to name their record- and what Sir Elton John had to do with it …AFTER THE JUMP!!!

justin bieber record breaker

This should impress Selena Gomez!!!

Between his broken heart and trouble with the law, Justin Bieber has not been had an easy time as of late, but it looks like the Biebs' luck is turning around because he just succeeded where no artist has before!

Following the success of Believe Acoustic, JB is now the first 19-year-old musician to have five #1 albums in music history!!!

One Direction's Only Direction Is UP! 20th Week In The Top Ten!

It's official! One Direction is the most POPULAR boy band since *NSYNC!

Why, you ask?

Oh, maybe because their album, Up All Night, has remained in the top ten US album charts for 20 consecutive weeks - the first group to do that since the aforementioned's No Strings Attached logged 31 weeks back in 2000!

And if that weren't AH-mazing enough, their

Beyonce's 4 To Debut To Considerably Less Sales Than I Am…Sasha Fierce!

Despite Beyonce giving all kinds of ferocity all over Europe in promotion of her latest album, 4, the record itself is set to debut on the HITS album chart, selling between 275-300,000 units in its first week…which is a far cry from gurlfriend's previous effort, I Am…Sasha Fierce, which had numbers like 482,000 alone!

So disappointing!

But she should have known this was coming, with the material she chose to record!

Inneresting, just not very radio-friendly!

Better luck next time, B!

Britney Makes & Breaks Records With Femme Fatale

Perhaps it didn't have the opening week that some of her past albums have had, but that doesn't mean that Femme Fatale isn't an ENORMOUS hit for one Miz Britney Spears.

As it was projected, Brit-Brit's latest disk only sold about 278,618 copies in the U.S. It puts Femme Fatale at #1 in its debut week, but it is a far cry from the sales of her last album, Circus. (Over 500K)

This latest rise to #1 has catapulted Britney in the record books on several levels. For one thing, the only other people with more #1 albums than her are Madonna and Celine Dion. If she keeps churning out music, we guarantee she'll beat their records in just a few years.

Furthermore, Britney has had a #1 album in three separate decades and she is the youngest artist to do so. She's also the youngest artist in history to have seven albums debut in the top 2 spots and the ONLY female artist to have 6 albums debut at #1.

We're so proud of her and all she's been able to accomplish with this album! We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it and we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her!

Congrats, girl! You're the fiercest of them all!

Excellent! All that extra-terrestrial luurve-making must have really gotten people going!

Katy Perry's new single with Kanye West, E.T., has hit the #1 spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, having sold another 327,0000 downloads and up 29 spots, in light of the music video's premiere last week!

Not bad at all, gurl! Keep up the good werk!

We wonder if she's planning on releasing anymore tracks from the album as singles?

Peacock? Maybe? Please?!

Just saying!

Holy hell! She's done it!

Our beloved Goddess Adele's fantastic sophomore album, 21, has officially broken the record for the longest time at number one on the UK album chart by a female solo artist, having spent TEN CONSECUTIVE WEEKS in the position and beating out Madonna as the previous title holder, for her greatest hits album, The Immaculate Collection, in 1990!
