Fall Out Boy may have been kidding on the square when they named their fifth album Save Rock And Roll, but one thing isn't a joke- the sales!

The fall out from the viral campaign and risky release of the entire album on YouTube a week early turned out to be more of a windfall.

The record has premiered at Number One on the Billboard 200 albums chart!

FOB had an amazing week, selling 154,000 copies- not quite as many as the best weeks of Infinity On High or From Under The Cork Tree, but considering the changes to the music industry since then, the numbers are quite impressive!

Despite Beyonce giving all kinds of ferocity all over Europe in promotion of her latest album, 4, the record itself is set to debut on the HITS album chart, selling between 275-300,000 units in its first week…which is a far cry from gurlfriend's previous effort, I Am…Sasha Fierce, which had numbers like 482,000 alone!

So disappointing!

But she should have known this was coming, with the material she chose to record!

Perhaps it didn't have the opening week that some of her past albums have had, but that doesn't mean that Femme Fatale isn't an ENORMOUS hit for one Miz Britney Spears.

As it was projected, Brit-Brit's latest disk only sold about 278,618 copies in the U.S. It puts Femme Fatale at #1 in its debut week, but it is a far cry from the sales of her last album, Circus. (Over 500K)

HOWEVER…

This latest rise to #1 has catapulted Britney in the record books on several levels. For one thing, the only other people with more #1 albums than her are Madonna and Celine Dion. If she keeps churning out music, we guarantee she'll beat their records in just a few years.

Furthermore, Britney has had a #1 album in three separate decades and she is the youngest artist to do so. She's also the youngest artist in history to have seven albums debut in the top 2 spots and the ONLY female artist to have 6 albums debut at #1.
