Well this is awkward timing…

At the end of last week, Facebook fired all the staff that used to run their trending news department, and replaced them entirely with an algorithm meant to capture the most viral, popular stories with no political or social agenda.

And two days later, a fake story about FOX News firing Megyn Kelly got past the algorithm and showed up on the site's trending topics.

Oops! Looks like that algorithm might need some tweaking…
