Twitter Sues Trump Administration For Ordering Homeland Security To Unmask Anonymous Resistance Accounts!

UPDATE (4/7/2017 3:10 P.M. EST): Well, that ended quickly. Twitter withdrew the lawsuit on Thursday after the Justice Department told the website that DHS' Customs and Border Protection unit "has withdrawn the summons."

After Homeland Security dropped the summons, Twitter told the court:

"Because the summons has now been withdrawn, Twitter voluntary dismisses without prejudice all claims against Defendants."

Donald Trump's love for Twitter is not being reciprocated at the moment.

The President's favorite social media site has sued the the Trump administration over the Department of Homeland Security's repeated attempts to identify users behind an anonymous resistance account!

The ALT Immigration account, @ALT_uscis, is one of several resistance accounts allegedly run by government insiders that launched after the Big Cheeto took office.

But according to the lawsuit, unmasking Twitter accounts that have been critical of government administration goes against the Constitution! It argues

"The rights of free speech afforded to Twitter's users and Twitter itself under the U.S. Constitution include a right to disseminate such anonymous or pseudonymous free speech."

Remember, Trump only likes free speech if it means saying things like "Bad Hombres" and where he likes to grab women. But anyone who voices their dissent with his policies MUST BE STOPPED!

The DHS summoned Twitter in March to unmask the people behind the ALT Immigration account, which has specifically taken issue with Trump's immigration policy.

The site responded in the lawsuit, arguing that compliance with the summons would have a catastrophic effect on a little thing called free speech, and would effectively threaten the many more anonymous Anti-Trump accounts.

The ACLU announced on Thursday that it will also go to court to defend the identity of the ALT Immigration, which is claimed to be run by employees of the U.S. Customs and Immigration Services. They shared:
