Justice Department Will NOT Be Filing Charges Against Officers Who Fatally Shot Alton Sterling

no title

Justice won't be served in the shooting death of Alton Sterling.

It's been reported that the Justice Department will NOT file charges against the officers involved in the death of the Baton Rouge man, whose videotaped shooting by police last summer sparked mass outrage.

According to sources familiar with the investigation, prosecutors have concluded there isn't enough evidence to bring civil rights charges in the 37-year-old's death.

This will mark the first case under Attorney General Jeff Sessions that the department has publicly declined to prosecute officers investigated for a possible wrongdoing in a high-profile case.

Of course, the department looks a lot different than it did at the time of Sterling's death — which prompted days-long protests that lead to over 150 arrests. Then, Barack Obama spoke out on the controversial shooting with a vote of confidence in the Justice Department's investigation.

But things are certainly different now, and Baton Rouge has been hearing rumors that the department would not bring charges since last week. As of Tuesday, Sterling's family had not received word of any decision.

A spokesperson for the family's attorneys said in a statement:

On Tuesday, the brunette beauty and Kanye West met Alton Sterling's son, Cameron, backstage at the rapper's Saint Pablo Tour stop at The Forum.

Cameron had just celebrated his 16th birthday on Sunday, so we're sure he's loving this belated gift!

Plus, the sweet snap is especially sentimental, since it's the momma-of-two's first photo opp since she was horrifically robbed at gunpoint.

It makes sense that Kimmy didn't pass up this meaningful moment, because she publicly showed her support for the Black Lives Matter movement after Alton was tragically killed.

The Sterling Family's lawyer, Justin Bamberg, posted the precious pic of Cameron with the famous couple. Check it out (below)!

It's no secret racism is alive and well in America — and we're not even talking about the Republican National Convention's intern pic!

No, we're unfortunately talking about YET ANOTHER instance of police shooting an unarmed black man for literally no reason… but this case out of Miami may finally effect some real change.

Video: Beyoncé, Rihanna, & More Share Powerful #BlackLivesMatter PSA

That's because while Alton Sterling and Philando Castile's deaths were caught on camera, neither were able to share their sides of the story… but luckily, the latest victim of police brutality survived.

47-year-old Charles Kinsey works as a behavior therapist to autistic and other special needs young adults in North Miami, but when a 23-year-old patient wandered away from their group home on Monday, neither probably expected to get shot.

Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened when cops

We're just glad no one on either side died.

Racial tensions are currently reaching an all-time high throughout the country as more and more Black Lives Matter supporters have begun protesting the senseless killings of black men at the hands of police.

Alton Sterling and Philando Castile are just two high profile examples of recent police brutality, and despite the deadly Dallas Sniper shooting that claimed five lives last week, Baton Rouge is still facing backlash from its residents.

Take note, Beyoncé!

Solange isn't the only celebrity speaking out about the Black Lives Matter movement following the recent high profile police killings of black men… but she is one of the few actually doing something to help.

That's because the 30-year-old R&B singer and her husband Alan Ferguson were spotted taking part in peaceful protests in Baton Rouge over the weekend in honor of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.

But that's not all — while Solange's in-person appearance showed how important equal rights truly are to her, she made sure to drive that point home on social media with a message against police brutality on Twitter!

In a series of tweets on Sunday, Solange recounted how the only violence she experienced while walking in the Louisiana march on Saturday came from authorities, saying:
