Bobby Womack, soul singing legend, has been diagnosed with early Alzheimer's!
Oh no! That's so sad.
We previously mentioned that Womack had just survived colon cancer and some pretty bad pneumonia.
It's only the very beginning but the dementia can rapidly progress and get much worse in a short amount of time.

A new study found that elderly people who eat a carb heavy diet are almost four times as likely to develop mild cognitive impairment (MCI).
Carbs break down into sugars, and sugar plays a role in the development of MCI.
MCI is a precursor to Alzheimer's disease.
Not everyone that has MCI develops Alzheimer's but many do.
5.2 million Americans suffer from Alzheimer's so researchers are doing what they can to find ways to stop MCI before it happens.

A new study has linked overeating to memory loss in the elderly population. Those eating 6,000 calories a day may have DOUBLE the chance of developing mild cognitive impairment!
The diagnosis means more serious memory loss then what is expected to come naturally with aging and is a risk factor for developing dementia or even Alzheimer's!
